I'm actually not sure tbh! I think my megane engine came with a starter so that was used. Might be worth checking the part numbers to see if they're the same

I'd say get the engine dynamics kit then. Flywheel never needs replacing and the clutch has 20% more clamping power. People say that the smf makes a metallic noise when starting, which it does, but now I barely notice it.

Some cars seem to be worse than others. My brothers R26 sounds awful whereas another friends barely makes a noise.

Might fit a crank handle. Wonder if 197 and meg starters have different teeth pitch

Just had a look and the part numbers for the megane and clio starter motors are different.
