I was worried enough with a single bar across the roof! It's by far the scariest job i've done yet.
Made another fuel pump cover today for @m.a.c
Sorting out the remainder of the fuel system now. I have some of the fittings I need ready but just need to order the final parts now. Can’t wait for it to be done now and to get back out in the car again.
whats your plans for boxing this in?
Not sure yet mate. It will depend on where I fit the pot and pump really. It’s likely to be made in alloy sheet.
Quick brake service today and everything appeared to be fine thankfully.
Not much progress made on the fuel set up. But have been busy doing CAD “cardboard aided design”
The floor is quite uneven close to the fuel tank however I want to keep the fuel system close to the lift pump. I’ve mocked everything up to get an idea of best placement and scale and have ordered materials to build it. I’ll have to fabricate two lower mounts which you can’t see which will fix the platform where the pump and swirl pot will sit and then I’ll build a box with a removable lid on top of that.
My new tyres have arrived from @NickD
More updates shortly.
this will be one hell of a beast on track..
New parts are gradually arriving for it.
That looks smart mate. Looking forward to the end result
That will look brilliant once done..
Are you intending in competing in this?
Not really mate, it may see a round of Time Attack or a Sprint at some point either way I want everything done right.
Final order of fittings made last night so should start to see the fuel system taking shape shortly. I’ve also bought some new workshop equipment to make a proper fuel cell for the setup to sit in. Should look great once complete.
More updates with photos shortly.
Great read! How scratch resistant is your interior paint?

It’s 2pack paint mate through a gun. Very hard wearing.
Considering the possible TA /Sprint intensions I would think you will need to box this in
Yes mate that’s exactly my plan. I’m building a box this weekend. I don’t want this exposed at all inside the car.
The photos above show the placement of where the box may go.
Today I finally made good progress. Lot of fabrication and various equipment has been purchased / borrowed (thanks @Mark_L) to make the fuel system cell.
I’m really pleased with how it’s come out I just need to sort another couple of bulkhead fittings on the cell for the tank return and lift pump feed then hook all the lines up.
Fitted the return fitting to the sender unit.
