Trackspec Clio 197

Not much progress made on the fuel set up. But have been busy doing CAD “cardboard aided design”

The floor is quite uneven close to the fuel tank however I want to keep the fuel system close to the lift pump. I’ve mocked everything up to get an idea of best placement and scale and have ordered materials to build it. I’ll have to fabricate two lower mounts which you can’t see which will fix the platform where the pump and swirl pot will sit and then I’ll build a box with a removable lid on top of that.

My new tyres have arrived from @NickD

More updates shortly.

Final order of fittings made last night so should start to see the fuel system taking shape shortly. I’ve also bought some new workshop equipment to make a proper fuel cell for the setup to sit in. Should look great once complete.

More updates with photos shortly.

Great read! How scratch resistant is your interior paint?

Considering the possible TA /Sprint intensions I would think you will need to box this in
Yes mate that’s exactly my plan. I’m building a box this weekend. I don’t want this exposed at all inside the car.

The photos above show the placement of where the box may go.

Today I finally made good progress. Lot of fabrication and various equipment has been purchased / borrowed (thanks @Mark_L) to make the fuel system cell.

I’m really pleased with how it’s come out I just need to sort another couple of bulkhead fittings on the cell for the tank return and lift pump feed then hook all the lines up.

Having the box painted at the moment which should hopefully be ready for final fit this weekend. Final jobs will be to make the rest of the pipes up and run power to the pump.

I’m also currently organising for a mapping session to dial in the new fuel system. Hoping to have it done mid February.
