As I’m sure a few of you are aware i recently sold my track spec Clio 197.



Whilst looking for a new car this popped up at the right price so thought I’d go have a look and ended up buying it for what I think is a good price.



The car is a 2010 clio 200 in storm grey with only 59k on it. The car was owned buy a previous member on here.

The car was a cat d and has been repaired and there is a crunch into 4th

That was the damage caused.

From reading the previous owners blog I can see it’s had a lot done by him but he was still having some issues (few of them are simple fixes)

There was an issue with the engine management light coming on this has been solved by removing the acoustic valve and solenoid (no light had come back on since)

No reverse lights and the dash saying to select neutral to start I think this well be the switch/sensor on the gearbox I will investigate when I drop the gearbox.

Other than that the car seems perfectly fine.

The car is booked in with Renault early next week to see about the 2 little rust patches one on the roof trim and one spot in the middle of the boot under the glass.

If they don’t repair under warranty I will just get the body shop to paint them when I get the roof and cup spoiler painted gloss back in a few weeks time.

I got the car home on Friday so on Saturday I gave the car a proper wash removed the stickers and gave it a good look over



The list I have of stuff done to the car is as follows

Genuine cambelt done by rst
New ball joints ,New drop links ,New anti rotation links and wheel bearings done by rentune in 2017
Power flex bushes in all engine mounts
New calipers painted blue all around
Scorpion cat back exhaust
Walbro 300 fuel pump

So far Iv ordered the following bits,
Sablet Steering wheel
Cup racer boss
Corbeau pro series seats
Corbeau harnesses
New brake lines throughout
Gaz coilovers with top mounts
Some black series bushes for wishbones and rear beam
Supercharger bracket
New radiator
Cup spoiler
New wheels
New pbs pads

I’m sure Iv ordered a few more bits as they arrive I will update some more

Ye it looks like it I’m just buying all bits to replace track rod ends etc will make the car mechanically sound then i will go from there I think

Not much to update so far really a few bits have arrived but still waiting on a lot more to come

So far all the black power flex bushes for the whole car pretty much have arrived along with the pbs pads new fluid the black sablet steering wheel and the cup racer boss.

Iv got to strip the interior this week as the the car is off to sw motorsport next weekend all being well to make a start on my full cage.

Other than that no real up dates

Decided I would get the car all stripped ready for the cage next week.

Everything removed dash just clipped in so he can cut around the cage.



I also removed the dreadful tints looking much better

I had taken the black car as far as I could and wanted to really. I loved the car just lacked power in the straights and out of corners etc

I bought this stupidly cheap and always wanted a storm grey. I’m hoping to build this to a decent spec and have money left from the sale of the black one.

Looks great, I always wanted to remove the tints when I had it,
Could never see anything at night and reversing was a git.

I doubt it will be done before next summer. Will try.

Doing this over time and cheaper than the last one.

Done a few deals with a few companies to use my car as a prototype for making some new bits.

Glad to see you building another clio. Always so much better building a car second time around. Know exactly what you want now and what works. What you’d change etc.
