"Rubber and Leather" : Weekend Edition

Needed a couple of bits of window trim to make all the existing stuff 'perfect' (Two existing bits having a small kink in) : but purely a visual issue the anal me can't live with. So i thought do it once; do it properly. So a couple of hundred squids worth of new trim will be going on this weekend. How exciting. Er.....not.



I didn't post any pics my Recaro guy sent me last week. He is making (albeit slow) progress. TBH: I think right now i'm his hospital job. Still; at least it's going forward.....

So my .....(and my wife's as i've been 'reminded' just a couple of times this week) plan today was to get rid of these from behind the sofa in the front room



Along with fitting this - after being unhappy with the original gloss black paint-job in one small spot on just this one piece - and asking my man to 'have another go'



Car was eventually located after not seeing it for a week......



And not many minutes later the first item was duly fitted !



While i was on that side of the car - the unhappy lower trim clip that actually didn't..........



Was very carefully removed (Honestly).....and a new item was installed along with the opposing horizontal inner seal too. Much nicer:



Then over to the passenger side and anything likely to be in the way and make life difficult was removed:



And a complete new window seal, lower outer trim piece and opposing inner trim piece / seal was lobbed on.

1.5 hours total not killing myself and fitting carefully. Got rid of the couple of kinks in the trim and looking alot fresher i think........

Top drawer effort as always Shuv, very nice indeed. Great news to see some progress started on the seats - glacial springs to mind though I feel sorry for you having to wait all this time!! Good things come to those who have endless reserves of patience
