Remap on stock 197 ?

Hi all. i was thinking about a remap for my 197. its all completely stock and i just wanted everyones opiniopns on if it would be worth it or not. if i get it done it will be at TDF so no need to comment on where it will be done just if its worth it.

i understand that with it being stock the gains will not be much but i am more after low down torque and response. i keep reading mixed reviews on if it is indeed worth doing to a stock car or not.

this has probably been covered many times but any help on the matter would be great. thanks

I asked the same question many moons ago and the people in the know how said basically NO but now some say yes.would be interesting to hear from someone who has had it done on a totally stock one

i think its down to what its running standard, a thing ive noticed is that those with low power output gain more than those with stronger engines closer to renaults stated power, so i would say yes if it way below power, then no if its a strong one. but it isnt all about power power power, a remap will greatly improve how the car drives. if your planning on modding, get that done first.

What you had done to your Ryan?

I had mine mapped with just an ITG filter. Saw about 5bhp gain which wasn't really noticeable but its the power delivery and cold start that were massively improved, worth it for that IMO but if you plan on modding in the future do the remap after that.

Where to start, ktec pro performance 100 cell sport cat+cat back exhaust, pipercross panel filter, matched inlet, destepped and polished throttle body, silicon induction hoses (thats if they make a difference), deboxed the front grill for better cold air intake, run a cold air feed to the second intake/acoustic valve from the bottom grill and a rs tuning remap done by matt at tdf, then i added the sprint booster to the throttle pedal, probably the best mod of the lot.

Pulls ever of alot better and sounds great, the sprint booster transforms the throttle response brillalany, best mod so far. I think if i keep it, when its due for cambelt, may get it cammed, and get some headwork done, mabe get matt at tdf to do it.
