Not a huge fan at the moment, but hard to be overly critical from a few pictures without seeing it in the flesh. Not a fan of the matte on matte look either, I personally think matte on gloss would have looked better.
Are the wheels staying white?
Looking forward to seeing it finished though.
Cheers guys.
It's a totally different car to drive than the Clio. The megged beast was quicker in a straight line but the speed the lotus can carry through the corners is unreal. Plus's being so low gives a better feel of speed so it doesn't really feel slower.
As Ben points out it is a road legal go kart. The whole experience from getting Into it, strarting it up, hearing the engine behind your head and driving is like being in a racing car which makes the little impracticalities like getting in and out and nowhere to put anything worth it.
The best mods so far are the short shift kit and the uprated gear linkage bushes. The gear change before was very long and loose but now has a much better an positive feel.
Apart from the plastidip the exhaust is by far the best addition. There were many options available but nothing that took my eye as I wanted to make a feature of the exhaust and rear end. After many emails and phone calls with Jim from 2bular we come up with a design and it was delivered within a week. The sound it produces is incredible, as it's coking up its starting to pop quite a bit. Don't think it will pass a trackday test though.
Come on now Angel you don't consider getting in and out of a Lotus as an impracticality do you? On the contrary I always loved the ritual, that you have to go in in a specific way etc, especially when you are trying to show a girl with a skirt how to do it, priceless!
Now, are you running a different suspension setup mate? Because the stock setup (bilsteins) is really compliant which is a good thing, but it's soft as a trade off and the body roll is quite noticeable, not to mention that with the stock front tyres (175) it understeers like crazy so it really can't be faster - not even on the corners - that your ex Clio. It might feel faster though
Hows them new springs and dampers on the derbyshire roads Angel, was up there this weekend in the clio and they are absolutely shocking.
