Poor radio reception

Well since my last standard Renault aerial got nicked, I bought a Halfords special which is just awful at receiving good reception.

What aerial is best as a replacement? I may also look at getting a new HU, I have the standard CD player. What HU for around £100 would work well for me?

I don't want to be faffing around with wires and stuff just stick it in and go (story of my life).

You'll get best signal from the standard aerial.

Best signal from a stubby aerial is the honda civic type r/s2000 aerial closley followed by the mazda 3 mps aerial. The mazda one is a better fit though.

You won't get a completely plug and play headunit, if you want to keep the steering wheel controls you'll need to also purchase the adapter (~£50) which is a bit of a bitch to fit as there are almost too many wires to pack in behind the HU

Best reception is the standard aerial, but what Ben has said is spot on.

Type-R one....for looks and reception. Mine came with a Halfords special when i bought it!! Someone had even tried to paint the bugger!!
