Hi All,

Thought I should say hello as I've been lurking on here for a little while now, certainly looks like a good site with some very nice 197's.

Should hopefully be picking up a Trophy Blue 197 this week if all goes according to plan! Wish I'd got it sooner and could have jumped on the ring trip!

By trophy blue I presume you mean racing blue as they only do racing blue and albi blue(same as mine)

Just picked her up and I'm loving it! Quick question though, 70mph in 6th gear = 3500rpm? Or do I need to get this looked at.

Thats about right. In the post 2008 model they lengthened the 6th gear........

Fair enough, previous car was a BMW so I'm used to it not even breaking a sweat in the high gears.

You do get used to it. I used to stroll about at 60-65 as that where the 197 is comfortable, since discovering that 75-80 is smoother and more responsive to overtaking
Pre 2008 197's are nearly touching 3800rpm at 70mph
