Hey guys...
checking in to the site - new Albi 197 owner here picked Chloe up yesterday.
cracking car - squat and chunky! and love those front arch vents!
Full fat - no Recaros unfortunately but not too fussed. Got the steery corner light jobbies.
Love the colour - close to my Audi RS4 and Golf R32 and suits the car sooooo well.... OK it doesnt have the grunt of my V8 RS4  but thats not what I bought it..... Its an absolutely cracking car - probably going to head over to Diamond for cambelt/pump/service - anywhere else in the West Mids/Staffs area worth considering? (specialist not stealers).
been out to clean it today and put the dog guard in the back....I spotted a chappy on here somewhere who had no rears seats and a perfectly shaped storage tray/platfrom setup in the back (belgium?) can we get that set up here in the UK? I could do with that! otherwise a bit of a DIY rip off is on the horizon.
Already has stubby bee sting - just bought zorst tips - online (got have a shiny end right chaps!)
To do -
service as mentioned above
drop it 30mm (any recommended springs?) looking at Apex on fleabay - they ok? drop it like it says on the tin? also Im hoping the standard shocks are ok with shorter springs? and no random rear wheel locking will occur as a result of dropping it? like back in the 90's!
fit zorst tips when they arrive
wheels are silver/clean but fancy turning to the darkside
poss wheelnut covers although Im sure mine are black and are "ay okay"
already has an aftermarket panel filter (need to look closer to see what make)
possibly repaint brembos a different colour and get braided hoses...
also read on buyers guide that many owners buy spacers but then remove them as it hinders the go kart-ness (new word of the day) - is this really the case? Ive seen lots of 197's (dropped) and the standard rims seem to fill the arches better....so Im assuming have hubcentrics.... Im happy with the front but wanna bring the rears out slightly - where and what size guys? or......is it best to sort out the springs, let them settle then take it from there?
thats enough for a 1st post LOL - Im off to put the kettle on and await a :faq: reply LOL (jest)
cheers guys
happy friday.....................
