My old Integra Type R

Alright folks. Thought i'd share the car i had for 5 years before buying my 197

It's a Championship White '96 JDM Integra Type R DC2, i bought it in January '07, with 77,000 on the clock and i was the 2nd UK owner. It's gone through a few changes since i bought it

It had an Air Walker front bumper, Mugen Twinloop exhaust, decat, Top Fuel intake and Spoon manifold, and i spent the first year or so just enjoying it!

The wheels weren't in the best condition, so i diy'd them black, fitted an OEM front bumper, and swapped the Mugen for a 5Zigen Fireball, because my brother had one on his old Civic SiR and i absolutely fell in love with the noise!

A few months later i had the biggest stroke of luck ever, as i had some spare cash sitting just as a set of Volk TE37s (my all time ultimate wheel!) came up for sale! I snapped them up and also picked up some Bilstein Type C springs and dampers, which turned out to be absolutely perfect for road driving - stiffer but not too harsh, and lower but still easily useable

And that's how she stayed til about a month ago, when i got a set of black Rota Slipstreams as one of my TE37s needed a bit of a fix up (don't have any pics of these though)

I was gutted to see her go, but the good news is i only sold her to my wee bro, so i can visit any time i want! So far the Clio has been everything i expected it to be - basically a newer, more modern version of the Teg

i've always liked the dc2's, but i do prefer the UK front end. the jdm's always look brilliant though, nevertheless.

I love these!!

Was quite disappointed when I actually went in one tho. That was a DC5 though I think. Wasn't this shape one.

Thanks for the comments guys. Like i say, i'd had it for 5 years, and loved absolutely every second of it! I've never driven anything like it for feel and sensations, and i think i've sampled a decentish range of performance cars. The Clio runs it pretty close, but still lacks just that final few % of feel that the Teg has (IMO of course)

The only reason i got rid of the Teg really was cos it was starting to feel reeeallly old! It's up just under 130,000 miles now, and after 5 years of driving it every day i just needed something a bit more liveable with! It's incredibly practical for what it is, but the Clio does almost everything the Teg does, but in a much nicer environment!

There's a good chance i'll buy another one in a few years as an occassional toy though, cos i think i'll always be a Honda boy at heart :001_wub:

Nice DC2 there. I also came from one into the Clio. Here's mine, still miss it sometimes though.

Dunno if I could have been tempted out of a DC2 for a Clio lol.

To be honest when I sold my teg I was on the lookout for a Megane R26 but couldn't find one that suited me! Stumbled upon the Clio and took it for a test drive and fell in love very quickly with it! The Clio definitely doesn't stand out from the crowd as much and is a bit more grown up IMO. The Clio is every bit as good in the handling but the Integra gets it because of the LSD, which the Clio misses.

Yet more 'Teg porn, excellent. There's one quite local to me, not sure what's been done to it but it sounds lovely when you're chasing it.

I still miss mine sometimes. Numerous trackdays, >200 laps of the Ring and was always reliable.
