I have already introduced my car to the Forum but thought I would do a progress thread as well. Bought my Clio late last year solely for trackday use. There won't be massively dramatic mods as the car was already prepped and most of what I will do to it will be tidying things up a bit rather than anything else.
I bought it from a trader, with only part history and immediately shipped it off to K-Tec for cambelt, geometry check (which revealed a worn lower ball joint) and a general look over the car. I have to admit I really know very little about modern cars (The only stuff I have really worked on is RWD Escorts and Talbot Sunbeams, bit of an age clue there
) so thought it would be worthwhile. their view was it was mechanically ok and just needed a bit of tidying. I then changed the oil, serviced the rear brakes and changed the front pad pins myself, moved the seat and fitted a new foot rest (carbon, tart that I am
) and I was ready for Castle Combe in June.

Sometimes it was dry

Sometimes it rained
R888Rs with 1mm of tread are not good in the rain! But other than that I really enjoyed it and the car ran perfectly.
So, ready for the next one I have de-stickered it a bit and buffed the paint and polished it up here and there.

Bought the stuff to change the gearbox oil which I will definitely do before the next track day (precautionary only, box seems fine)
List of planned mods, some of which might get done before I use it again
Powerflex engine and box mounts
Wheel Stud/nut conversion
AC delete (no gas in it anyway)
Plastic doorcards (none fitted at present, looks a bit messy)
Rad mount repaint, its quite rusty
Cheers all, Mike
