sorry to hear that Roy, i know of a guy with a similar problem, hes a roofer aswell and had a black out driving the van home, now hes got no license, and not aloud back on a roof for a year. just got to think positive mate.

Sorry to hear about the bad news Roy, I've been so busy past few weeks not had a chance till today to go through the site, last time I tried the site had gone back in time.

I'm pretty sure you'll have no issues now with getting benefits to help out as the company has laid you off due to your injury, rather than jacking it in. Perhaps look at changing career to something which you can work around your injury.

Been put back on altered hours today by the specialists because of the amount of swelling and the lack of proper equipment supplied by my employers

Functional Electrical stimulation is the piece of kit San is getting, (my mobile has been playing up at the mo), it's mainly been used for drop foot at the mo but they are trying to test it further. I shall get hold of Sandras case note copies she received at the weekend and try and get a copy sent over to you asap, hopefully it can be of help to you

Sounds like your employer is now breaking H&S rules as they have to ensure the welfare of both able bodied and disabled members of staff equally.

I hate to be saying this but sounds like you may now have grounds to sue them and if they were still planning on getting rid of you then why not.

Also my sister just had that disability re-test and they said she could now work, her GP saw this and sent scathing letter to them stating how do they expect someone with only 25% vision (tunnel at that) to not only get to work but then be able to work in an environment which has either computers which she can only view screens for short while or use machinery safely & on top of that is prone to strokes having had at least 2 more in past 6 months.

This country has gone to the dogs when a terrorist can get benefits and be kept in the lap of luxury and the rest of us have such a hard time.
