JMR's LY200

[JMR]

Had a Ph2 172 years ago (for 3yrs), followed a few years later with a RB 182 Cup (for 5yrs)

After a 2.5 yr hiatus the mrs wanted to come back to Renault and decided on a LY 200.

Car is FRSH, great condition, 45k on a 2012 '62 model, so a pretty late one.
Has Recaros (was on the 'must' list) and rear privacy glass.

Silver wheels at moment, soon to be painted gloss black.

Travelled a 300 mile round trip to get it, train out, car back

Quiet enjoyed the drive, car has loads more grunt and low down pull than I can ever remember the 182 having.

Need some mats, I have brand new 182 mats that I used for like a month in the 182.
But they don't really fit the 200.

I'll get pics up when its brighter.

And I have to agree with Shuv regarding the 182, a 182 is so much livelier from the off.

I think it must be a long time since I've driven a 182 lol

Big difference going from 5 speed to 6 speed I think.
182 Cup much lighter too.

Compared to the 1.6 non turbo MINI Cooper we had it is a great upgrade.

Little bit of a retrim to the outside drivers seat base bolster coming up at half term when I'll be popping down to Capital Seating

182 is definitely quicker in 1st and 2nd. It's the weight (less) advantage.

At the moment mine looks just like yours in your avatar.
The mrs says the first thing she wants to do is have the wheels refurbed black.

Gonna take the car to work one day next week and drop it off at the wheel place then pick it up at the end of the day all done.
Will be a nice surprise for her when I get home

The black does look nice on LY, and I’ve kept my eye out for a set of speedlines in the past, but I decided to that I’m happy with the silver, albeit in desperate need for a refurb!

Yeah my alloys are mint, just want them a different colour.

Selecting 1st is a bit stiff when the car is cold, so I think I'm going to get the box oil changed for fresh Renault stuff at the dealer.

Redline MTF for the gearbox......there is no substitute.

The Renault stuff is 'ok-to-good'. The Redline makes it the box the car deserves......

Totally normal for the gears to feel irregular when cold, 1st/2nd never feel smooth this time of year for the few minutes of running! I know @sevenfourate is experimenting at the minute due to notchy gear changes!

Renault dealership I use here I can’t fault, they’ve handled any little queries or issues I’ve had in 3 years ownership really well!
