You guys are awesome. I've got no news I'm afraid. I spoke to the garage today and they told me it's broken, I already knew this! What the hell? I hope this isn't how it's going to go because I need to have faith restored!

And it cost me £100 for them to tell me what I already knew, I'm a little bummed out, they had best tell me the complete picture today otherwise I'm most likely to kick off.

Did they not take the head off, or at the very least put a camera down the bores to check for valve/piston damage?

If all they've said after having the car a few days is 'it's broken' I'd be half tempted to take it somewhere else and £100 for what exactly ? you knew it was broken, isn't a diagnostic of the problem usually free then they tell you what exactly needs doing and the price of the repair ? That's how my local garage works anyway. Hope you get it sorted soon mate! Don't let them fob you off with unnecessary charges.
