HI another new clio 197 owner :)

Oh riiiiiight. You’ve got your brakes properly sorted. Nice one mate. I know they’ll be bloody awesome. The Clio brakes SO well when it’s looked after. Good to see you doing maintenance properly before mods.

And yep, Nimbus with black end plates would be my choice. There’s a company in Italy who sell the end plates in proper carbon. Think they look great.

Get a build thread going fella. It’s nice to have a documented journey of your car. Even if it’s stays totally standard. There’s always a story to tell. And 99% of us on here will read anything and everything. Especially if there are photos!

Mes is right here..start your own progress thread..you will be amazed by how much you've done to your car over the years to come...
Definitely this! Progress threads are the life-blood of the forum, with so much information to be learned hidden in them.
You'll find the brakes benefit from a strip down & clean once a year or so to stop the sticking & keep them working top notch.

Almost matey, The brakes are all new and fresh so the front end is too good lol, but the rear i am going to sort out, i have got the pads and awaiting my new discs in the post  But seriously these brakes are amazing i wonder why other manufactures of hot hatches dont use them? i.e type r etc

That sounds good, i think ill go for that on the spolier, ive always liked silver cars to be honest and this just happened to come in a kind of silver although i must admit its proper name does sound pretty good, Nimbus Grey  Wow real carbon fibre got to love it will look at it in due time sir thats a promise.

Thanks again for the kind words and encouragement i think i will mate:smile:

Thanks mate i think i shall take the advice, but be warned it might be a bit boring compared to the truly exotic clios on here, some of them just WOW a simple word but with soo much meaning! Like yours mate wow a turbo just amazing really cant believe renault never did a version like this from the factory, truly a shame. but again mate wow.

Thanks buddy i do have a few little plans for it but nothing major, just want to make some subtle changes that nobody would really ever notice but it makes the beauty better, well to me at least  plus i am trying to do things which i can revert to factory at the end of it, so its not completely been messed with too much and can be easily sorted out from the main stealers if ever needed to be in years to come, with normal cost.

Thank you sir and i think i will, just dont want to bore any one with my car when theres soo many amazing projects on here and truly jaw dropping examples! Really could spend some serious time reading them all and would still be amazed at every one of them, just truly a amazing car out the box and made even better every single one of them, in there own personal way.

thanks guys for making a great site for a fantastic car! :thumb:

The key thing is to take your time and not rush through a load of cheap mods. It's tempting to do lots of little things like bits of paint here and there, lights, mats, wind deflectors, springs, spacers etc. etc. But when you tot all that up it equates to a fair bit of money that could have been put together in one lump and got something MUCH more exciting. It's far better to do those little things at the end. Save and do the big bits. You'll get a much better car out of it.

And @Pav makes a really good point there too. Bear in mind a lot of the cars you see here have taken years to get to where they are now.

Save hard, go big. You've got a good one out of the way (well, almost done) with the brakes. If it was me, I'd do coilovers next. Proper ones though (B14 on a budget or take your pick if you want to spend a bit more). Then air intake (KTEC one is brilliant and cheap), exhaust (Milltek on a budget, Akrapovic if you can afford it) and mapping (RST Tuning or Engine Dynamics depending on where you are in the country). If you do all that you'll have something very very good indeed that handles, stops, sounds and goes superbly.

And definitely before you think about paint, I'd look at getting a basic detail to see where you're at.

Agree Nimbus is a GREAT colour. All the colours for the Renaultsport cars are fantastic. And silver / grey cars always look excellent in photos. My other cars are silver and grey

Er Mes right is thats ok to call you that mate. I have already done most of them things your talking about :chris1: Really most of that list well kinda. Will update it in the projects thread and your words are wise, thinking about it theres a lot of dosh that could have been saved up added to and got something alot more enjoyable.

Thanks guys and i will really take on the advise and hopefully act accordingly as it makes sound sense.

see that list you mentioned before i have already bought some Eibach springs and was going to get the cup shocks and voila better then what i have as standard. But will see as time goes on. I got a nice surprise after i had bought a k&N apollo induction kit, that the car already has a K&N panel filter installed. Not sure i should be happy or sad lol. Also another nice surprise is it has a full SS exhaust fitted straight from the manifold back, and i like the sound it makes a really nice roar :jimmy: Most of my friends like it too but there are a few that think its too loud lol, but i try and keep it tamed most of the time by driving normal  No idea the make or brand as have not really got that that far into it justa poke here or there but i think the back section is Milltek by a guess by the shape of the back boxes not sure the brand on the rest of it. but i honestly dont know. And the guy i got it off said he only had it for about 2 months as he needed the money for other things, then tells me its expensive to maintain tax insure and even fill up as its thirsty lol but i didnt care to be honest as long as it running ill hopefully can get it running alot better and looking equally as good  And also has been remapped to 202. something bhp top of my head it had a rolling road graph print out with it and will check some time properly. but sooner or later with some maybe additions will be remapped again one day depends on what goodies it gets over the time, as it seems to run rich, another story for the other thread lol.

Your right there sir they all look good and i cant and wouldn't say one is better or worse, as its paint and colour is always personal preference but for once with some luck on my side i got a silver one lol and yes i have read a bit about them other beautys you have, my friend is a big m3 fan, i like them but prefer small cars i dont know why but i do lol and lovely colours choice you have there on them fine motors aswell. But for give me but unless some one picked like a brown or some thing quite peculiar most colours are pretty good.

Cobra on a budget worth considering. I love mine! Alternatively Scorpion are very popular.

Thanks mate, it could also be a scorpion actually already on mine mate. I really have no idea and the guy i got it off didnt seem to know either but he did tell me its has a "wicked sounding exhaust on it" i believe that quote is accurate and its true in a way lol It has a full manifold back exhaust system on it, sounds like music to my ears but thats just me lol some like it and some hate it lol but i try and keep the beast tamed well most of the time :track:

Absolutely true John :thumb:

Thanks again guys and will create a thread very soon must learn to take pics of stuff lol :thumb:
