Help - Changing rear brake pads

Hi all,

I am changing the rear brake pads on my 197 but the piston seems stuck and does not want to go back. Is it that its just stiff or is there something stopping it returning back far enough to get the new pads in?

Thanks

Doug

Drivers side winds back one way and the passenger side the other, did mine yesterday

different to mine then - both went same way to wind back in

put pressure on as you turn it - sometimes one needs a bit more "force" than the other !

Brilliant......many thanks to all who replied.

The piston is shaped at the top. Suppose Renault have a special tool to make it easier :-(

Or you can live dangerous and use a pair of snipe nose pliers

Dont blame me if you loose several fingers though

Peel the rubber dust seal back a bit and spray some WD40 or similar on the piston, helps the piston slide through the rubber seals.

Went to Halfords and purchased the tool. Had both sides done in 20 mins......I wish I'd come on here first :-(

Thanks to all of you......

Doug
