Harey's GW200

Winner - POTM November 2018
So I said I wasn't going to do a project thread as I was happy with the car as it was (as i'm sure you've nearly all said in the past). But I couldn't help myself so here's a write up of where I'm at.

10 years ago I had my first Renaultsport Clio. It was an Iceberg 172 and was leaps and bounds ahead of the Saxo VTS I had before
Superleggra.jpg

I then had an Impreza and even a Panda 100HP (don't knock it until you've tried it)

So, On the estate where I work there is a car sales place that specialise in low mile/low owner cars and he had a White 200 with Recaros. It had one owner who always garaged it and it'd only done 60k. Shortly after seeing it money was exchanged and I picked it up.

The seats and steering wheel look brand new

I purchased some fitted seat covers from UK custom covers and they fit pretty well

Some Heko wind deflectors also went on.

I also purchased some Osram Diadem indicator bulbs to clean up the front and rear lights. Most people fit silvervisions but I wanted something a little different.

And that was all I thought I was going to do...................

After joining here and reading other peoples project threads I got sucked in and couldn't help myself.

I first had a go at Plastidipping the wheels but didn't like it so I peeled it off

Some H&R springs then went on to complement the Cup shocks

I got some Laguna wheels from another member on here and had them powdered white. I just now need some decent rubber to wrap them in.

I have also just changed the front number plate. I thought I was ordering a 3/4 plate only in height and not length but it looks ok I think??

and that's how it stands now.

Next is to get the Powerflex engine mounts, tyres for the white rims and keep my eye out for an exhaust.
Then who knows????????

Thanks for reading

thumbs up..more plans with it?

Just ordered top and bottom engine bushes and rear wiper is coming off this weekend

Really need some good rubber for the white wheels too without spending big money.

So today the Powerflex upper and lower engine mounts have arrived.

gotta love your dedication..you are about to become dad and still find time to play with the clio :thumb:

hats off to you

Better get it done beforehand. You'll never have the time afterwards.

Taken me 17 years to start a project after my 1st, got 4 now! Wouldn't be without them!

Congratulations, and hope the birth goes well.

So, Powerflex bits are still sat in their boxes waiting to be fitted (hopefully this weekend) but I did treat myself to an ITG panel filter just to scratch an itch of wanting to do something

I love my powerflex mounts haha! Makes it feel so much more racecar. I did have my mum in the car last week and she did comment on the vibrations though hahaha. Asked me how it doesn't hurt my ears aha! i don't even notice them anymore.

How long have you had them in? They say around 2k miles to settle but that’ll take me 6 months

Probably since about may to be honest. Took a little over a week for them to die down for me. Can't remember why but I had driven a lot. Probably about 1k and they were fine.

Torque bush fitted today. The metal collar you have to remove is a right bastid. Cost me a screwdriver and the skin off my little knuckle. Got there in the end and 1st thoughts are it makes the engine feel a lot tighter but it does vibrate a lot more on idle. Its not unbearable though.
Just the lower engine mount to fit now

Need to have a look at this to see what the vibration on idle is like before I consider fitting one to mine.

It's not too bad and I'll be able to live with it especially if it will settle down after a few miles (or a few thousand). I'll pop round tomorrow with it
