Got a heads-up from them on facebook it was coming out couple of months ago, i've seen the vids online - and read the reviews.

Meant to be good stuff ! I see a few others are following suit with the same type of product now too......

Awesome product, so excited that i went to the pressure washer on the way home from work. Car was clean from yesterday but I didn't Sonax it so there were a few non protected parts, mainly the lower sides and rear.

Rinsed the car and then sprayed it all over, 1 or 2 sprays per panel and then rinsed off with the pressure washer.

Unlike Sonax which feels grabby when you feel the paint, this is silky smooth and is super shiny. I dare say the beads are better than BSD and even though I didn't dry it, there were no water marks after getting home.

Will get pictures tomorrow hopefully if its nice.

Replaced the headlight yesterday which actually went well. Motor swapped over easily and bracket was attached the new headlight. Checked all the bulbs and they were working fine.

Come to drive tonight and bam, dipped bulb out... The one sodding day I don't carry my small socket set is the day I have to change it. Quick trip to Tesco (as I was 20 miles from home) and a new bulb and socket set for the price of a single bulb from Halfrauds!

Found some flaking on the repainted front passenger wheel. I think it was painted just before Xmas, but I'm not even going to go back. Cut my losses. I was trying to decide between a a steering wheel or alloy wheel refurb, but that's made my mind up...

South West Wheel Refurbishment down in Exeter seems to be my main choice now because of the lack of powder coating companies around here. I'm budgeting around £250 as one wheel is slightly buckled from the pothole incident and they should be able to fix it.

Going for gloss black again. I love the contrast between black and blue.

In lieu of anything major happening (apart from its weekly wash and wax), I want to do things that don't cost a lot. I have wanted to spray the side bullets since I got the car, but I have been hesitant as if the paint runs, the bullets are effectively ruined as removing the paint without damaging the bullet's very difficult.

So I am looking for some advice on how to do it and what I could use for a test run. I want to put something on the bullet so that when I spray, I can see what it looks like. I was thinking of something like cling film and then heat it, let it cool and spray. Almost like a vacuum forming machine to make a mold.

Also, what paint do people recommend for really shiny gloss black? I have used some Rust-Oleum Hard Hat Gloss Black paint, but it doesn't look too glossy. I know I'll need to paint and then clear it, so recommendations for both would be grand!


Also, what metal polish have people been using? I have used Britemax Metal Twins but haven't been impressed. Autosol and a microfibre? I did seal the tips with C5 (can be used on anything) but it didn't last. Metal sealants?

Get some plastidip mate. Peels off if you don't like it with no damage at all. It's a satin finish but they do a gloss top coat too I think.

I did try Plastidip a few months ago and while it looked good (apart from the satin look like you say), I found it didn't stand up to regular cleaning as it kept peeling at the corners where it gets thin. I think they do a Glossifier but reviews are pretty lack luster I think. It looks very orange-peely.

Cheap way of trying a new colour for the bullets. Or a solution long-term ?

Just paint them mate, if you've already done it and you like it, you'll like it again. Wouldn't break the bank if you wanted to put them back.

I've used Peek metal polish on my exhaust tips and they came out very well. They were in a sorry state when I bought the exhaust, so they really did need some elbow grease, but the polish seems a decent product. Not sure whether it will be massively different to Autosol, but thought I'd offer my opinion.

Oh how I love sunny Sundays... Nothing of note has changed, apart from new shiny battery covers and a full clean of the engine bay.

Got 3 days booked off at the beginning of April, and after the test run of polishing today, I am feeling confident to take on the stone chips. Then, with my bonus from work, wheel refurb!!!
