Had my FF RB 200 10 days now, after seeing how the dealer did a shocking job of cleaning in for me, I had Barry @ Auto Detox do a New Car Detail on it for me. He spent a total 9.5hours working on the car, and only just finished in time to get these photos before the light went completely!

I highly recommend Auto Detox, he did a great job, worked tirelessly and used top quality products (mainly Swissvax).

I apologise for the light level, like I say, we were lucky to get these pics before it got dark. I'll try and get more up in better light, but the car is dirty now anyway :thumb1:.

Am I enjoying the car? 750 miles in 10 days, so yes!

Any comments welcome, enjoy!

how much he chage you if you dont mind me askin mate.

£250, which was the same price as the dealers Supaguard.

When you work out the time he took and the products used etc, its value for money really. He used Swissvax Mystery @ £400 a tub!

Thanks for the comments.

I'd highly recommend the work, makes your car look better than boxfresh.

And obviously, I recommend Lichfield based Auto Detox.

I dont earn £200 a day lmao thats crazy money and £50 for 1 application of wax . . . his tub of wax is paid for within the week . . . .

£200 a day is £52000 a year pre tax. . . . . . .

he has done a fantastic job but come to think of it ^^^^^^^^ holey moley.

Ah the old 'he earns loads of money' gag. Not quite as simple as that!

I'm an Electrician, paid hourly, and fully understand how this works.

Right, I'll assume your right and the wax is charged at £50 per application (to keep numbers simple).

That means he worked 10 hours for £200 - £20 per hour.

But, he has to pay for:
Van Insurance / Diesel / Road Tax / Vehicle Maintenance
Public Liability Insurance
250 Litres of water a day (What he used on the Clio, he brings his own)
Constantly replenishing stock levels on his van (he must have a hundred products on board!)
Advertisement costs, web costs.
Etc etc etc, the list goes on.

After all that, I'll bet he takes around £14 per hour, maybe less (absolute basic Electricians rate btw), which isn't loads, but a decent wage for a hard days work.

And thats assuming he works 5 days a week. Being self employed in a recession isn't for the faint hearted!! Some weeks he may only get 1 or 2 days work.

I think his rate is quite acceptable actually.
