Dumdums RS200 cup

I shall try 30 cold and see if it’s a bit better on the road (I’ll go the same route I did the other day round the Peak District, twistys, slack corners, sweepers, hairpins all in a fun 20 odd miles, kills my average fuel mind but it’s damn good fun!)

Luckily we have lots of tyre pressure checkers at work if anyone wants one posting, got at least three I can lay hands on, maybe more

They are the plunger type not dial gauges but read consistently between the three I laid hands on the other day

Red caliper paint ordered, got me a nice wire wheel for the grinder and will set about painting them up once I have had the car cleaned and mopped then made v.shiny by my mate who just loves cleaning cars  rear calipers and carriers are worse than the fronts, corrosion has got under the red and they have blistered, and I’m buggered if the fronts won’t match the rears cos I’m a bit anal like that, not fussed if it says Brembo on the side or not, those who know just know :sunglasses:

Good to hear..make sure you lacquer it afterwards..will protect the caliper paint

Cheers @Pav :sunglasses:

Well I’ve lost my baby, it’s now parked outside my mates house on his drive, it will be clay barred, mopped and all manner of potions and various polishes applied! I will post any magical reflection pictures I get from him, I might even paint the diamonds black :blackdiamond:

So my mates sent me some progress pics, he’s had to go berserk with the clay bar on the rear end as it was covered in bits, but says every panel has needed coating in some form, says sometimes the polishing compound will cut tiny bits off

It’s just been mopped/clayed for now bar the roof which he’s not touched yet I think, it wasn’t bad before mind, but he’s a perfectionist... :sunglasses:

Shiney stuff will be applied tomorrow for effect once he’s done the roof! Plus he’s gonna buff the door shuts aswell the crazy fool... I break out in a sweat picking a microfibre cloth up anywhere near a car! :tearsofjoy:

As they say in Star Wars... the story so far...

So it’s now had a bit more TLC

It first had a sealant which is applied in the above pics... apparantly it’s blackfriar which in his words is ‘shiny as a motherf**ker’ by itself

Now he’s added a good few hrs later some poorboys polish stuff (will update when I know what it is!)

He’s done the back

And now has removed Clio also, Renault sport can stay!

Can’t wait to get it back and nurse it home avoiding all bugs and soon to be dead creatures!

He reckons give it a week, take it back and apply a layer of collonite 915 for a good shine that will last a while (I might even buy a bucket and mitt for washing purposes and some form of chamois leather... or am I going mad???)

“Poorboys Polish with 100% carnauba wax, then going over in a bit with blackfire wet diamond all finish paint protection” apparantly, ya gotta love having a mate that loves polishing stuff!

He’s even polished the wheels, pointed out that the wheel acid from the local hand car wash had left deposits all over the wheels...

Looks rather shiny and wet look (even if he did get the telegraph pole in it!)

Well chuffed, but don’t wanna drive it, apparantly I have to take it back for a layer of colonite 915 next week after a quick wash and chamois
