As said, frosty morning, hot kettle of water to de-ice the windscreen.

Lass at our place did it last week on her Astra - she'd seen her husband taking the kettle out to the car in the morning, thought she'd do the same, and not realising he'd just been using it as a jug she boiled it first :clap:

That or nearly 500 nicker on a screen, because a repair is pissing you off. I'd accidentally drop something on it.

I rang my insurance and they said if autoglass have repaired they are not going to pay for a new screen if it doesn't need one.

just smack it one near the repair.....job done !

was told £600 12 mnths ago when they thought it was my screen
but it was the 1 trophy that had cracked

when my windscreen was replaced, the chap cut through the wires for the rain sensor. Needed a new wiring loom (according to Renault) and a replacement rain sensor. Cost me nearly £700. Luckily my insurance company stumped the cash up as it was their company that caused the problem in the 1st place.
