CL10 CYA project

It’s a long read that starts with me saying the car will be OEM plus and then it morphing in time something different. We still have lots of plans for the Clio.

The engine has been removed.

The shafts came out smoothly without any issues, and every nut and bolt appeared to be fairly new.

Next, unclip the wiring harness, unbolt the exhaust at the downpipe, detach the engine mounts, and then proceed to remove the block.

That harness is giving me the fear, probably because it's all being opened and just looks a mess.

That is the cheapest loom I have seen by far, so it might be worth considering.l, some have been upwards for £350

On the other hand, I'm only going to end up cutting up a new loom.

With the one I already have, all I need to do is remake all the connections and then tape it back up..

It was a nice day in the sun, making it the ideal time to clean the bay using a degreaser and a paintbrush.

I removed the wiper linkage, cleaned the scuttle, and cleared the drains. Then got the arches, underside and finally got round to cleaning that diffuser

Next it was out with the nut rivet gun
To remount the expansion tank so I can use cap head bolts

Mount thr Apexi rather than having it cables tied to the loom

Battery bulkhead connector - cheers Rsrowe

Got some fuel bulkhead fittings arriving this week hopefully

Nothing really done today and back on shift tomorrow so that's it for 4 days

I did go and fetch a load of cleaning & painting stuff so all ready for the days off.

I also popped a long to Renomotive (Renault breaker) this place is 20mins from my house and no idea if was there - and wow it was an Aladdin's cave for Renault Sports impressive
Stuart is a top guy and we ended up chatting for ages.

Anyway got my 3 bits of interior I was missing

And the missing bit for removing the engine

Stuart had a nimbus bonnet in so I grabbed that.

I have a single skin carbon bonnet - can't attach it to the bonnet hinges so it's going to be a right pain in the arse finding some place to put it when the bonnet is up/off - and it will probably blow away up at KH

Also fitted the electrical isolator
