Cam Belt Due??

Hi all, my car is coming close to 40,000 now and is 5 years old. I have been advised that my cam belt is due, has anyone else changed at this low mileage or will it have some left? Money is quite tight and it isn't cheap so don't want to break my back if it has a few miles in it yet, anyone help??

It needs doing mate.You need to change water pump at the same time.Not worth the risk.Get it done!!!!!!

I did mine as soon as I bought the clio, she was 5yo/50000 miles.

Do it my 197 only had 36K on it

I've got all this to look forward too in November, my handbook says 6 years like the linked post does. Insurance, Cambelt + Service all in 1 month.

Mine will be 5 next month and only done 21k and I am having mine done.

im also due a service and have tax mot and insurance due in feb at once, killer

Renault say 6 years or 70k miles

Renault also say a 197 produces 194bhp iirc...
