Hi, its time next year for the dreaded cam belt change and the dealers warned me it will be £800 with the service on top for my F1 57 plate currently on 5000 miles only.A bit steep one thinks so looking at going to k tec to do it for half the price( can any one recommend any other trusted garage,do TDF do cam belt change).Was thinking of having cams changed at the same time and i wondered if anyone has had them changed and did it make car feel much better,also was the tick over still smooth etc. Any comments welcome.

I'm pretty sure I'll be fitting new cams to ours next year when the belts are done. It's what I did on our 182 and I loved the result. I use BTM in birmingham to fit the cams then got TDF to do the remap, and thats what I'll be doing again next year
