Brakes - Fast road and track set ups...IN HERE.

The DS2500 are perfectly fine for track use. Used them with F2000 and the PFC 330 Kit and they're awesome. What do you don't like about them specifically? Maybe then it's easier to figure an alternative out for you...

Need better pads than ds2500 for track use.

Carbotech very good option for track and road use. Just about finished with a set of XP8s and about to try a set of XP10s which are a little more aggressive. Wear rate extremely good. Fine on road. Better cold bite than standard with much better stopping power. They will squeal though. Not cheap though.

The guy was asking for road use, DS2500's are ideal. No they aren't really up to snuff on track but that wasn't what he was asking for :s

For road use why not stick with OEM pads and discs as I find them perfectly good enough? For track I currently use DS1.11 pads and find them very good paired with standard discs and Motul 600 fluid. Was previously tempted to go for the 330mm upgrade kit but I am not convinced the extra cost is worth it as the money can go towards track days.

Oops I just saw track

Nah it was John - keeps bringing track use up when the guy asked for road :chair:

Ignoring the fact this guy doesn't want track even though you keep saying it  I agree with you re: 330's Vs. buying proper pads like you have. Pads and fluid are more important for sure and pads should be chosen based on use/temperature range you want them to operate best in. As always nothing is best at everything. I only went 330's because they look sweet but the clicking from the J-hooks is dreadful so won't be fitting J-hook rotors next time. XP10's or DS1.11 for me next, like the Yellowstuff I use now as they resist fade well but simply fancy a change.

Standard and am impressed by them even with all the discs needing replacing.

Maybe im just getting old....

Had the DS2500 on a Cupra, Scooby and Evo8 and they are very good - just cant warrant the price difference on a car that does less than 2k miles a year

Ordered ferodo ds2500 all around and rear grooved Oem discs hopefully should be here today then get them fitted sometime next week :d

a bit firmer pedal in my case but i dont think it about the feel..think its more down to when you push your brakes hard when tracking..you shouldnt worry about expanding that much..

Looking at new set up for fast road with a few track days, looking at either MTec or Bremo HC. Was going to use DS2500 on front with Brembo pads on rear.

What are people's views on the MTecs? Also what groove/hole options are you finding work well?

While i believe the M-Tec are supposed to be ok for the road; at least one member here has recently had problems with them on track.

I've purchased Brembo HC and DS2500 pads for the front and am fitting them later this month. I'm road only though, and not sure how they perform on track.

Hopefully people with track experiences of these combo's will chime in shortly.

I've had no issues with the MTEC on purely road use. Had them on the fronts for a long while now and they've been great, good performance - with Mintex M1144 pads. I have the drilled/grooved, but solely for looks.

I've had a good combo on mine:

-Brembo HC discs front, OE brembo discs rear
-Ferodo DS2500 pads front, OE ferodo rear
-Goodridge braided lines/Motul RBF660

I've used these @ zolder and Ecuyers, Zolder is really hard on the brakes and I've hardly had any fade. Good setup on the street aswell, now i'm trying out the Galfer FD1066RT pads front and back. Only thing I didn't really like about my previous setup was the brake balance, the rears waren't really doing anything so that's why I went with more agressive pads on the rear this time.
