Hungover after the work Christmas party last night, I thought I’d make the most of it and get the car gleaming! Wasn’t really dirty but there we go....



Started off with Auto Finesse Avalanche snowfoam to get rid of the traffic film and grime...



Followed up by washing round with Auto Glym shampoo, then a layer of AF Aqua Coat. Towel dried with the AF drying towel - best towel I’ve ever used, really recommend it.



Finally, a coat of AF Tripple polish to really get the Ultra Red glowing. Looking absolutely brilliant.



Plans are coming together for Spa in April, new seats and a harness bar are on the shopping list...if anyone has any experience of running seats with harnesses but keeping standard seatbelts in place at the same time I’d like to hear about it!

Got £75 off the idiot to pay to have the bumper mopped and polished, doesn’t look too bad at the moment but will probably get it done at some point!!

Yeah, crash bar is fine and the only other thing I had to do was pop the grille back in which after 10 mins of messing about, it played ball and clicked into place.

The kid was an idiot, knew nothing about cars and said because there was no damage on his car, there wouldn't be any damage on mine. Spent what felt like an age trying to explain to him about plastic flex etc and how two of my friends watched it happen. They both said to me after - how on earth didn't the bumper crack?!

After getting it looked at, I went back to him and sent him photos of the scuffs and chips to the paint, he even tried to argue that it couldn't have been him and that I was talking rubbish....

He initially asked if he could pay on Thursday, which I agreed to! After all the backwards and forwards of it, I just left him with the ultimatum that if the money for machining it wasn't in my account by Thursday, I'd just open a case with my insurer.

As if by magic...turned up in my account within 10 minutes...

Drinks are on me!

It's a shame that the lad tried to worm his way out of it in the end, funny how that happens glad you got some cash out of him though, it's a decent outcome. But more so that there was no serious damage to the UR beaut!

Certainly going to do it more often....don't drink too much with my job, but when I do I swear it nearly kills me! Keeps the car clean though..!

First of the parcels have arrived....



Brembo rear pads, which will be coupled up to a set of Mtec discs and new Performance Friction Z rated pads for the front...! Braided hoses bought too but no sign of them as of yet....

Meanwhile, another Clio has cropped up at our yard, drove past the first time and I thought it was mine! Ideas for wheel colour though....

Hopefully should be man enough for the job, haven't really heard anyone say they've needed to upgrade from Brembo front discs! Will match them up with the rears and go Mtec grooved if I had to, probably will in the future to keep it neat and tidy.

Took a trip down to Devon last night for a pair of Recaros, I’ve been looking out for some for months, absolute pot luck...opened Facebook on my phone at the right time and bought them there and then! @R26 BWJ helped get them in for me and after a bit of messing around with the old Cabasse unit, they were in!



Slight issue though, I ended up driving his R26 converted 197 and absolutely fell in love with it, looks like I might end up making the trip up to Trev sooner than I thought @Pav :excited:
