Another daft question....

Evening people in the know!!

I'm pricing up tyres (as i now need 4!!) and I'm wanting to know what this means:

Ply - XL

TL/TT - TL

Also is the speed rating W for Clio's??

Cheers

James

The XL means extra load. The tyres can have more weight on them. The lower profile tyres tend to have this as they have to make the sidewalls thicker anyway. Not sure about the TT/TL thing though. You need tyres rated up to 150ish probably.

TL will be tubeless at a guess...

Yeah you want W rated tires, have heard a few stories about insurance refusing to pay out if incorrect loads are fitted. I cant see it being a problem if you go heavier. Not too sure how much truth there is in the stories but I wouldn't risk it!!

Righty-o mate...just a quick check before i take the plunge...is this information the right ones?? I'm pretty sure it is but no harm in checking lol -
