200 project 'paint it blacker' update 11/05/2010

i just need brake work doin now and u may know how compatible the brembo 4 pots are with other cars, it is just down to wheel sizes?

the brembo four pots on 197, 200, meggy 225 n 230 are used widely.

evo's, seat cupra, bocha, alfa mito,

the only thing that stops you is the mounting points. the 197 has a block of steel what the caliper threads into. you would need to find a big brake kit to suit ure car . . . . . brembo are far from the best in aftermarket brakes.

go to BB4u and have a look.

these are where i got the willwoods from mate.

thanks, i have just seen 2nd hands goin with discs and pads for around £150 before and thought it'd be a nice cheap upgrade

ralphy wants mine but if the sale falls through u can have em mate. again the brakes are on hold as i have had a great offer from mike roberts for his 342 mm alcon rotors. i just need to have some bells made. to suit the offset and my new willwoods

cheers pal, where would i get the definitive answer on compatibility,my mechanic is evo specialist and hes struggling with the brake side of things,

well u might not like this answer lol........

brake compatability took me 2 months just researching and looking at blueprints of calipers checking centres and offsets.

I can assure u best bet is to buy what u want, radial or stud mounted and have caliper hangers machined to suit the disks.

you've lost me lol......im going to bed!!!

Someone on here has a 197 and 500, said they're pretty well matched. He said the 500 will be quicker with a bit of money on tuning bits

Tis Marks. However, its more likely that his 500 will be faster than a 200 as it has the Essess upgrades. So has a different map on it from the standard Abarth.

Yeah we have both but our 500 isn't esseesse'd

They are very tuneable though, you spend £3k on a 197/200 engine and you'll get very little.

Spend that on the 500's and you'll have gone from 135bhp to 220bhp :worried:
