    Spare £60k anyone?

Sorry guys, looks like I got the wrong end of the stick. Sarcasm can be difficult to spot on a forum, particularly when I'm barely paying attention and don't really check in very often. I didn't read the whole thread before replying to it, so had no idea it was 'fully discussed' already. I took...

    Spare £60k anyone?

I was just passing comment, no need to be a c*nt about it.

    Spare £60k anyone?

Never 'invest' in something that is at the peak of it's value. These were a good buy at £20k, and possibly a reasonable investment at £30k. But after this you are in really nice car territory. Go on Autotrader and see what you can have for £60k, or rock up at a car auction and do the same.

    Clio 200 Knocking

Have a really close look at the springs. I experienced a similar knock and it turned out that both front suspension springs had snapped. The breakage is hard to spot - they went on the bottom (last coil) which is encased in a plastic sleeve. If you pm me your email address I'll send you a...

Noisy steering to the right - lower ball joints?

I'm about to do this work myself. Question is, how much heat should I use? Is an electric hot air gun sufficient, or do I need to use the blow lamp?

    Why Renault?

When I bought a 52 reg Clio 172 Cup in 2007, it was the fastest newest car I could get for £6k (my budget). I loved the way it looked, it had real character - the way the dashboard buzzed when I started it up. My first 'proper' car, it felt solid. It tried to kill me in the wet. I loved it...

    Clio 200 - 2017

The EBD keeps me alive at Anglesey. Anybody who's really pushed their luck braking for Rocket, up the hill, will have some idea of what I'm eluding to. But yeah, generally agree regarding trail braking, sometimes I actually want to unstick the car on the way in to a corner but the electronics...

    Advice - Bridgestone RE050A

    Seems straight forward enough, thanks.

    Smug git.

You could stick another 100bhp in the clio and still want more power, it's all relative. On track my Clio 200 only ever seems slow when I'm trying to outdrag something slightly faster in a straight line. If it had more power, I'd just struggle to outdrag something else, and then it would feel...

    Advice - Bridgestone RE050A

I recently did a trackday at Anglesey in my 200 Cup, with Bridgestone RE050A tyres (standard size). Standard suspension, mental brake pads. The weather was dry and actually quite warm. While the tyres warmed up quickly and seemed to grip well, they seemed to go off after 6 or 7 laps. I could...

request please How to remove calipers

I was planning on changing the front brake hoses on my 200 - but having read your comments about getting air in the ABS actuator I'm a little worried. Is there a method to prevent air ingress?

    Clio 1.4 S opportunity

The 1.4 Clio is a cracking car. Best thing you can do with it is wash it regularly and keep it clean - it'l be worth more when it's time to buy that 133. Concentrate on fixing any minor cosmetics that might need doing so that when you do come to sell it, it's a really tidy example. Honestly...

200: Great dealer experience - Renault St.Helens Arnold Clark

St. Helens might be a bit far for you, though it's an easy drive up the M6. It's certainly worth travelling to a reputable independent or dealer.

200: Great dealer experience - Renault St.Helens Arnold Clark

Just thought I'd chip in a note about Renault in St.Helens - Arnold Clark. I've used these for servicing and tyres for the last four years, after a bad experience trying to save money with a local independent. Service & MOT at said dealer costs me about £120 from memory, and they seem to price...

    200 Service Schedule Request

Difficult to get the best of both worlds! If you really insist on doing the servicing yourself then keep all the receipts in a folder with a printed log at the front showing what you've done/when. You should be fine with basic stuff like oil/filter changes. Anything more complicated (cambelt...

Front tyre wear - inside edges

I've noticed the tyres on the front of my 200 Cup have gone bald around the inside edges, maybe first 1.5" of tread. The tyres are generally well worn, maybe 2mm above wear indicators elsewhere, and the wear is the same on both sides of the car. Question is, is this normal owing to negative...
