Hi all,

Said I'd introduce myself and my 197.

Picked it up back in June, 80k service history and more importantly recent belts and 3rd/4th overhaul @beaniesport with receipts

It was standard apart from a set of grams springs and 20mm spacers.

I then picked up a set of team dynamic rims and gave them a good clean and ceramic coat.

I then changed to a full set of braided lines from proline, PBS Prorace pads and brembo HC disks and a full flush of Motul RBF 660 fluid

While the wheels were off I installed a stud kit too.

I also did a little bit of weight removal.

Fitted an eBay special gear knob for an extra 5bhp

Time for a quick wash after..

I booked on to an evening session in Donington Park with open track and picked up AR-1 tyres.

I have to say the car handles amazing, but I feel would benefit massively from some coilovers. Flat down craner curves is such a rush though!

Also highlighted that I need a bucket seat, was holding on for Dear life through the old hairpin!

I've booked on for another day at donny on the 11th of October and I can't wait!

Plans over the winter:
Half cage
Bucket seats
Exhaust system
V6 airbox
Coilovers

Thanks all, I have to say it's a long time since I loved driving a car as much!
Would love a little more power but is seems expensive to get any real gains..
How much difference does a remap make, I know I'm not going to see much of peak power increase but is there much a difference in feel?

It might sort out any flat spots you have got but it won’t give you massive power gains.

An LSD is definitely on the list, will probably wait until the synchros need doing again though lol
Yes me too Renault were a bit mean not putting one in the R27 as the R26 got one, I have a quaife in my 309 Track car and it is mega round the bends.

When I had mine mapped, I had the pre-cat taken out and went from 187bhp to 197bhp at the flywheel, didn't feel any quicker but it was much smoother throughout the rev range and Andy at Engine Dynamics upped my rev limit to 7800 I think in the end.

Worth doing to be honest, mine was mainly done as my flexis were shot.

Did you change Manifold or modify the standard one?
My flexis don't look in the best condition but no blowing yet.

Standard one, Engine Dynamics did them as a swap and remap package deal. He had a load in stock but whether he still does them I don't know.

I've got a Toyo Sport Manifold Poly Top Engine Mount already fitted when I bought car recommended by On The Limiter (u Tube) in the buyer guide he did they cost £200 for manifold sorts the flexi issue apparently 1500 miles no probs. I thought that the solid mount may be too harsh but its fine.

It doesn't sort the Flexi problem, it fixes one and then the Toyo can have crap single Flexi, they fail so much or at the welds. Yes it's a "fix" in the sense it sorts your current blowing manifold, but seeing as you lose power with them over the OEM, it's whatever you can be bothered to do, some don't want to take manifold off and get it sorted. (I bought a used one and got the Flexis done, then swapped it over).

I got my OEM one fixed and had 2 fresh Flexis, it's been 3+ years and still fine.

It cost £60 less than a Toyo to have the new Flexis welded in and to check the welds on where the flange meets.

Thanks for the info guys, might guy with a standard mani then, I am considering the oreca system from the mani back, anyone on here have that setup?

Yeah I do have the Oreca

It's a good system, fitment is a bit iffy I have found & so has my mates. Hangs really low but sounds good, bit noisy though if you have a standard manifold it's actually not too bad. As soon as I changed the manifold it got pretty loud & had to put a secondary cat in as it was too much for me

Plus the Oreca weighs absolutely nothing, it's super super light. So great if you're looking to drop weight from the car

Thanks Lewis,

How low does it hang? I will be mainly tracking it so more worried about kerbs that anything.. I will probably keep the standard Manifold so will hopefully sound good

The light weight is a great bonus, helps offset my love of food
