First thread for me gents .

I visit from the land of Ford, having pretty much owned one ever since I started driving ten years ago.

The story of how I ended up with the 197 is rather lengthy, but I'll summise: I bought an ST170 which I turned into a track car, spent shit loads of money modifying it, got fed up of fixing it, stripped it for parts, and bought a 197.

Few pics of the old track car, the daily, and the new purchase which my mate used to own .
Hopefully getting the wheels sorted soon as I hate the colour - people keep looking at me funny when I drive it .

Just the 'normal' stuff really. It's at a decent enough spec as is to be handy around a track...

Just waiting to get some anchor points so I can fit my old buckets and harnesses.

I need to sort the gearbox out before any proper mods. Then it's likely to be a clubsport style weld in cage and some nice coilovers. Been browsing over the KW clubsports today - I haven't quite got the money for AST :tearsofjoy:

Gaz golds are a nice setup and you get adjustable top mounts into the bargain!
I did spot them when I was having a look. The price seemed not too dissimilar to the KWs once you'd added two way adjustability.
Do you run them on yours?

ive used gaz on previous cars and have been happy. big ben runs them on here and seems very happy, they also will customise the spring rates if you wish, being a proper coilover rear damper makes spring rate changes after purchase easier also  I would ask why you feel the need for two way adjustability if your not racing and needing the most from a damper, most people would be happy with one way? genuine question as most don't have the skills to drive beyond a one way set never mind a two way setup?

've had one ways in the past and just felt like there's never been enough adjustability beyond banging the dampener up on track. I have two ways on the RS and they feel fantastic.

I guess I also just wanted to buy the best that I could afford.

Thought i recognised it i sold the lad who had it before you some cup dampers.
Handles mint on them! I drove it for about half a day at donington not long after he fitted them. Was rather surprised

welcome aboard love the blue Focus..always wanted one of those..
Cheers bud. It's always been one of those dream motors for me.
Would 100% recommend owning one - the way I look at it, it'll never really go down in value now too.
