Spirit Blue Fiesta ST

Pulled the trigger today and left my deposit for a set of the Meister R coilovers. Provided my Spec-R stuff arrives before the 30th January, everything will be getting fitted then.

Coilovers mean that the next power boost will probably get put back to next year. This means I'll have a reasonably powerful but awesome handling little beast.

I'd rather handling over power :thumbup1: get that done first then those power hikes will be awesome both combined.

The car sounds like it'll be something special soon then!

Good lap that. Must be a seasoned 'Ringer.

1st trackday of 2015 is booked. 28th March is the big day.

I'd love to see what the tyres on the front looked like after that lap lol. Good effort that was.

Nice lap! Seemed nice and smooth. Proved the ABS is perfectly judged as he had the tyres howling every time he was on the brakes yet I don't think he triggered the ABS once.

So I made the long trip down (560 mile round trip) to Finsport headquarters (Jay's workshop) to have the Meister R coilovers fitted. Also made the decision to change from our open cone air filter to Finsport's new enclosed setup. Why? Primarily because noise of open cone being a bit too in your face but secondly because I found the engine bay gets very dirty very quickly and I was finding quite some dirt build up on the open cone filter.

Opinion on the FS airbox? It is very similar to the Mountune box however with a few subtle changes which do make it better, in my opinion of course. Sound is not totally gone, however it is now at a suitably subtle volume which is nice.

As you'd expect, with the weather being so bad right now its impossible to put the coilovers to the test. Though I would say the drive back up the road was more comfortable/less crashy that the standard setup journey down. I left them on full soft after the car was corner weighted (Nigh on perfect after some fettling) so will now adjust them to my liking over the next couple of months. Their first proper test will be Knockhill on 28th March.

As I said earlier, I wasn't gonna go much lower than standard but I feel she now sits a little more aggressively. Ended up with -1.5 degrees negative camber which on my old Clio 200 made a massive difference to handling so my hopes are high for the Fiesta.

A pic after washing her this morning:

My arch gap front to rear is perfect. From now to old setup its about a 15mm drop. So next will be Spec-R stuff (Intercooler and hard-pipe kit) fitting then enjoy her for how she is.

That is stunning. Sits perfect. Why can't they make cars like this from standard, the clio included obviously.

How did I miss that update yesterday!!

That looks like a pure beast!! Sits perfect!

Looking good Martin, your off your head washing it in this weather though

Take it your not going on the 7th, I think Darren & I are going then ?
