Word of warning, there's a crash at the end where a spectator gets injured. No news on their condition as yet, hope they're ok. Looks pretty bad though...

Watching that and the commentators not grasping what was going on, it reminded me of when Jules Bianchi crashed in Japan - BBC commentators hadn't clicked what was going on, even though it seemed clear from the footage. Not so clear in this instance, but still reminded me.

Yeah it's not great. I really hope it doesn't kickstart loads of daft safety regs, it was just one of those unfortunate things which was no-one's fault.

Sad news indeed. RIP to the guy. It looked pretty bloody brutal to be honest, the outcome is not particularly surprising unfortunately.

That said, it was a terribly silly idea to stand on the outside of a corner with no escape route when the road is icy.

Not a good start to the season for sure. And Meeke is out now too.

Looking forward to it. Shame to lose VW but they deserve to feel a backlash after their crimes against the environment!

Should be a good season with the new regs I'm hoping, and I love the new Fiesta!

Bugger, Ogier won. I think the Hyundai looked very strong though, and if Monte Carlo is anything to go by, I fancy Neuville to have a crack at the title.

Good season ahead I think, and these new cars are pretty spectacular.

Just finished watching the highlights. Tricky conditions but the cars all look and sound great. Really hope Hayden Paddon isn't affected by what happened.

Was thinking the same mate. It's all pretty tragic really. And for what? Such a shame.

So anyone watch Sweden? Love this avent and by the looks of it so do the drivers. Good to see Toyota on top and just to prove its not over until you cross the line. It's early yet but if M-Sport keep scoring podiums it could be their year.

Yeah I watched it. Neuville threw it away again. I still think he'll be fighting for the title, he just needs to cut out the little mistakes. Good to see Latvalla win.

Latvala seems to have a new lease of life. I remember watching him years ago doing the Jim Clark Rally in a Focus.

What a great event. It amazing to see the pace of these guys in such conditions.

Gutted for Neuville, I like the bloke and I'm very fond of Belgium so I'm fully behind him. He was absolutely flying and it's all over with a tiny lapse in concentration.

Very pleased for Latvalla, fully deserved the win. When Neuville went out I was just waiting for Ogier to turn it on, but Latvalla nailed it.

Highlight was Ostberg deciding that seeing as he had no chance the best idea was to go for the most mental jump over Colin's Crest. The slow mo shots were like that bit in Ferris Bueller's day off when the parking attendants take the Ferrari out for a spin. Awesome.

I watch the highlights on channel 5. You can watch them on 5 on demand including the preview shows. You won't recognise the cars they are OTT. Only 2 rallies in so not missed too much mate.
