Which route to take with exhaust?

Ok, i'm bored with not having a performance exhaust and not sure which route to take.
If i were to buy a Miltek system would this need remapping to stop a flat spot occuring, as i'm aware this happens without the remap. Which would cost £800-£900ish for both.
Or, should i buy the Akrapovic system as i dont think this needs a remap? So would cost about same amount overall.
I'm inclined to go for the latter as would prefer the better quality system. This depends though on whether i need a remap or not?
Another thing to consider is that i plan to get rid of the car next autumn so is it worth paying the extra for the Akrapovic for just one year?

why not do the "remove the centre silencer" mod first - only £50

theres plenty on here had it done

Good idea! Hadn't thought of that

Would the Akrapovic need a remap?

to reap the full benefit yes - but only if that was going to be the only mod - if your planning on others then mod first and finally a re-map/custom map to your mods

I banged my Akrapovic on without a remap for while. It was fine, got rid of flatspots and did what it said on the tin. From 2k onwards it was better and from 4-4.5k all the way past 7k it revved so much better than standard and felt so keen!! Dont need a remap imo for that. They are expensive but you get what you pay for, you wont find a bad review on here put it that way!!

Cheers guys.

Is kinda what i thought. So i reckon its better to get Akrapovic on its own rather than Milltek and remap. Will be going for cat back as well. Next question, once the exhaust is changed, can the standrad exhaust be kept and refitted when the car is sold?

It should be able to be re-fitted... Shouldn't it?

I would leave it on, that would be a good USP for your car, I'd buy your car if you was selling it!

But he'll prob get more money selling it separately? Yeah it can be re fitted but it has to come out in 2 halfs so will have to be welded again. But that doesn't really matter.

i ran a ktec pro without a remap for a while, wasnt too bad. no matter what you do there will always be a flatspot of some sort, even after mapping you can feel the flatspot.

you can refit it - just make sure its cut off so at a later date either welded back or sleeved

Cheers, that's exactly what i needed to know

Mclaren - will keep you in mind next autumn, if i sell up.

And yeah, was thinking if i get Akrapovic it should be quite easy to sell on.

Right, where to get it from? is there much price diff between various places or are they all the same (give or take). I see k-tec sell it for £880 for slip on system.

You need the full system to get any noticeable gains. Jamsport also sell it but I think they're the same price

yeah get the full evo mate. Call jamsport they will sort u out, they do all my work

Much as I admire the quality, I think a £1k exhaust on a Clio is madness. Why would you need a remap with a milltek? Do the 200's have the same issues as the 197's with flatspots?

Definately need to go for the Evolution system dude. The performance gains are noticable all the way through the rev range. The low down pull difference is huge (imo).

AKrapovic FTW!

one of the best quality systems i have ever seen. My GF drove past me last night driving mine and it sounds ace at full chat

The whole system sounds incredible and you also get carbon fibre tailpipe trims too

I'd heard that a Miltek on its own can cause a bigger flat spot, so 'needs' a reamp as well??? If this is not the case then may save £500 and get the Miltek.
I know the Akra is a better system but the difference in price is almost a trip to the 'ring!

I'm sure the yozzasport system fits the 200, would much rather that than a milltek. I don't doubt the quality of the akra, but for £1000 it fecking should be great. I genuinely think some people purchase it thinking it's titanium lol!
