Where to buy pressed plates ?

Hi guys i recently had a private reg brought for me and i want pressed plates and they have to be with me the same day does anyone know a place that makes them near birmingham or locally to birmingham, thanks

You'll struggle to find somewhere that will make them same day or while you wait as they need specialist pressing machines to make them.

Both www.craigsplates.com and www.french-number-plates.com offer a quick turnaround though and their work is good quality.

Are they legal to use?

Pressed plates are ok as long as they use standard UK Font & Spacing and are BS/TUV marked with the makers postcode visible along the bottom.

Oh and they must have a reflective coating. This is the most obvious one that Police spot a mile off...

dont they all come from ireland etc due to printing / pressing laws in the uk so they ship them from channel islands and ireland .

I've seen them for sale at shows before, but they've always been a pay then and recieve them in the post thing so you might be right there...

If you struggle, theres a restoration show on at donington park on monday (2nd) and there are normally people selling pressed steel plates at shows like that.

I got mine from Regal Motorsport in Southampton, but they came from Dubmeister.

On my previous car I bought some at 2010s FCS. Illegal but I never got pulled for them. They was illegal because of the font, and didn't have the BS/TUV mark or post-code on them.

If I was to buy some more for my 197 then, it would probably be from dubmeister..

I had some from Custom European Plates (http://www.customeuropeanplates.com/) on my VW. Not sure if they're road legal, based on descriptions here, but I never got pulled...

They looked genuine as hell - even had the German seals.
