Ultra Red 200 Cup FF

Good work mate. It's the little details that make the difference when they're all sorted.

Our B pillar wrap and weather strips need doing too. But can I be arsed?

Good on ya.

Good work Eddie - small, but effective changes! The weather strips are mega simple aren't they, but easy enough to miss I suppose.

Cheers Jimmy! Yeah they are, the key is to get all the glue and residue off or it wouldn't be long before the new ones get wrecked either. Just with having a Clio before you get used to all the common issues lol.

Havn't we heard that before Eddie  Like Groundhog day in here !

****Always something to do and Mondays come around all too quickly don't they.

I dont mind the flaps if im honest. I do think your car will look a whole load better without though.

Now. Get on it. This weekend !!!

Have a good one...........

There will be changes this weekend . In fact I'm just getting ready to drop the car off now .

Last night also involved wheels and C5. I might give them another coat of C5 as I'm not convinced I got full coverage of the wheel and my OCD won't let me fit the wheels without knowing they are 100% lol

Earlier on in the week I ordered a set of Grams springs from Kam Racing, along with some fluids etc for when the Clio sees some track time. Top service from Kevin at Kam Racing!

Today I had the springs fitted! Ever since day one there was a slight knock coming from the front near side. I had this in my R27 and just assumed it was the same issues, a leaking shock. It actually turned out that BOTH front springs had broken. I can only put it down to the fact that the car was barely driven from passing MOT in March. No big deal as the springs where being fitted and that's also cured the knocking noise .

I also had the mud flaps removed, HURRAY lol. To me they really where an eye sore so I'm pleased they are off.

I really need to get the R26r wheels sealed and on although that now looks as though it won't happen until next weekend :worried:.

I've only driven around 10 miles after having the springs fitted but initial thoughts are very positive. I'll report back more when I've covered more miles.

Tonight's job... to fit the Ktec Induction Kit (weather permitting!)

Looks great Eddie. You intending on fitting spacers / stub-axle extenders at all ?

Spring experience sounds similar to mine (Had yours gone at the bottom; inside the plastic shroud by any chance ?). Which is the 'normal' place for them to snap.

No one - inc me - picked up on mine until the Eibachs went on........

***Glad your'e finally de-flapped too. MUCH BETTER

I'll see how the car sits on the new wheels just before deciding what size spacer to go with. I've never fitted them to any car before but thing it will help, forgive me for using the word, stance!

Yeah that's where both had gone, exactly the same as the R27 as well. Glad I had replacements lined up as the Renault replacements are very expensive, from memory I paid around £120 for one in the R27!

Haha thanks mate! Glad they are gone .

Of course on getting the new wheels on first before deciding on 'stance'

Spacers can be had "anywhere". Stub-axle spacers for the rear [Engineering wise a better solution IMO] can be had from Pure Motorsport if you didn't already know.....

You intending on a castor. camber, toe, alignment session when all is on ?

****God i love spending iother peoples money

Stub axle spacers aren't something I'd looked into in the past but they do seem the better option.

I have looked at the adjustable top mounts that are for sale on here but haven't made a decision if I'll go down this route just yet!

If you are worried about spacers (Like i was) - then the stub axle extenders put no extra load on the smaller rear bearings because of the now wider track. But apply that extra width / load to the more capable axle. Thats how i see it.

Coupled with 8mm front spacers - i got some extra "stance" [Your term not mine  ] - but hopefully not enough to do any serious accelerating / apply too much stress on suspension / steering components.

****In saying that many here have run 25mm spacers for years with no hassle. Maybe i've just overthought the whole shebang. For a change. Er....NOT !

Now we're talking! I ordered these weeks and weeks ago but with Streamline Carbon being flat out they have just arrived today! They are quality and can't wait to have them fitted! I may tackle fitting this evening

I think pretty much all that's left is an exhaust and deciding on if I'm going to fit side skirts or not! Hmmm.....

... and deciding on if I'm going to fit side skirts or not!

i'd only do the side skirts in combo with a splitter, eddie. maybe wait till triple R has their splitter ready and then decide?

carbon parts look top, btw.

Mmmmmmm UR and gloss black combo gets me every time! Looks gorgeous mate.

Loving the sill plates too. Really cool.

This week seen the biggest changes the Clio will see.

Last Saturday I had the Grams springs fitted, because the car is a weekend toy for me it wasn't driven all week so I jumped in the car this afternoon to take it to my work and I really noticed the difference in the firmness of the ride with the springs settling. It doesn't bother me in the slightest, it reminds me of the ride when I had the Billy's fitted on my Megane.

During the week I fitted the Streamline Carbon bits (well to the passenger side anyway). The weather has been too bad here to have a chance to bond and secure the driver side door bullet so I'll save that until tomorrow or Monday when it brightens up again :smile:. I love carbon fibre and I'm really happy with how these turned out. Couple of pics;

I did have visions of the door bullet flying off on my first drive after fitting but thankfully it's still there lol.

Next up, I had bought an ITG Maxogen off a friend who owned a 197, Sod's law the day after a Ktec Induction Kit came up for sale here. I was really happy with the Ktec item when I had it fitted to my R27 so I sold the Maxogen and bought it lol. Couple of 'boring fitted pics';

Last but not least I got round to giving the wheels the Gtechniq C5 treatment during the week. I gave them two coating just to ensure as close to full coverage as possible. I can't recommend this product enough. It may be placebo but I feel there is definitely added gloss to the wheels, plus it makes cleaning them a bit easier which is a huge plus as cleaning wheels isn't my favourite task lol.

I fitted the wheels today and I'm over the moon at how the car now sits. I had in my head how it looked but it looks even better than I thought! The car sits so much better and I'm not even sure if I'll add spacers to it now.
