Ultra Red 200 Cup FF

Eddie, glad to see you back in a Clio, a very good Clio I have to say:smile:

Those wheels in red were awesome, I suppose red on red would not look nice so fair play you changing the colour:smile: I am thinking to spray my OZs in that red, is there a way to find the colour code by any chance?

Will look great im sure. Carbon bullets ??

Quite 'severe' the tinting at the rear i agree. Caught my eye right away !

Only a case of gently warming with a hairdryer and peeling off isnt it ?

Yeah the tinting is too much for me, it's virtually limo tint! I can barely see out the the rear window even during the day lol. I liked the factory tint my R27 had so I would opt for it as it's very subtle .

Thank you Yiannis! Glad to be back and as mentioned as great as the 265 was I always missed the Clio, they are brilliant little cars.

I'll try my best and get the paint code for you . Red would look epic on yours! I'm sitting biding my time for a set of OZs but they very very rarely come up which is why I'll probably end up sticking OEM and going for the Cup Racer Speedlines.

How you enjoying your Clio? It's a fantastic example with ALL the right bits

Thanks Eddie, appreciate it matey:smile:

I'm still loving mine even after so many years. I really can't see myself selling it for whatever reason now, it just ticks all my boxes!

How long have you had it now!? I honestly thought you'd been in a Lotus by now lol. I remember seeing your photos with friends in theirs!

Yes yes I do love Lotus cars Eddie and I would love owning one. Trouble is that I live in London and they don't insure a car without parking. Also is the fact that I like the Exige S2 and not only they don't drop in value they go to the opposite direction! So for me to get a decent example I'd have to part with £30k, something I'm not willing to do. Yes, I could get an elise s2 for £15k but it doesn't float my boat I'm afraid:worried:

I've got the clio since January 2011 and it's been a steady project ever since! This September we'll still do the Alps by the way, 10 cars, 9 Lotuses and my Clio lol

Yeah I get what you mean! Beautiful cars! A couple of guys I know have recently bought Lotus's! An Evora and Evora 410. Beautiful pieces of machinery!

The Alps trips sound like a lot of fun! I envy you lol.

Due to my patience being zero and excited to see the wheels on the car I bought a set of tyres on Monday. Having had several different brand of tyres on my previous Clio and then putting AD08r on the Megane I knew exactly what I was putting on the R26r wheels.

The wheels came with part worn A048 and with me having no intention of tracking the Clio on 18s I knew I just wanted a fast road tyre.

I had the tyres fitted today and fitted new centre caps, cleaned the wheels and took some pics!

they are an excellent tyre Eddie..well jel now..

They are fantastic. I sold the part worn A048 on and that raised over half the funds for these which is why I bought them so quickly as I hadn't planned on buying the tyres until pay day at the end of this month lol

Looks great! A few UR 200s cropping up now. I'd say have a look at my build thread, but thanks to Photobucket, the entire thread is now broken.

I'll get it sorted soon. Yours looks ace though. :sunglasses:

Cheers guys. This car will be a project for me for a while. Due to the way the previous owner has kept it and having access to another car it probably see much tarmac over winter as I will have it stored and tinker away over winter....if my patience allows lol!

Which means you'll hit 'everything' in one go as you have no time in your brain for anything less than a car as you want / expect it. Even if its in a garage and sitting there doing nothing.

The 'pains' of being both impatient and a perfectionist

So with tomorrow and Thursday both being bank holidays here in Northern Ireland I thought it would be a good idea to tackle a few of the niggles and silly issues that every Clio on the road seems to have, I.e. split weather strips and sagging glovebox.

First up was the weather strips, and for a car that was so well looked after I can't believe these weren't replaced by the previous owner! All it takes is some patience to remove all the old glue and residue before fitting the new strips.

Next up was the sagging glovebox. I used some Velcro and although the it's not the greatest of improvements I struggle to think of a better way that doesn't involve replacing the glovebox! If anyone else has any ideas please let me know.

I was hoping for the Gtechniq C5 to arrive so I could get round to sealing the wheels but it hasn't arrived as yet - that may be a job for the weekend. I've also ordered up some other parts which I'm hoping are here for the weekend

Thanks! It's not the most exciting of updates but those will come hopefully in the course of the next week or two .

Weather hasn't been too bad here although it is quite cloudy today again :worried:.

Good work Eddie - small, but effective changes! The weather strips are mega simple aren't they, but easy enough to miss I suppose.
