Clios sat untouched since the ring..... hadn’t even washed it.
With Oulton booked for the 18th December, I had to put some time into replacing the studs. After the amount of Loctite we’d used refitting my old ones at the ring, a little heat and some more leverage was required to extract them. I also took the opportunity to refit my arch liners given that the weather is crap this time of year.
Oulton is only 50 mins away from home, so we didn’t even bother taking the trailer this time. Weather was wet, windy, and cold.
The first time I’ve done a day there and there’s been so little grip. Rain just before dinner-time actually seemed to improve grip, but it soon ‘dried’ back to what felt like wet lard.
The day went pretty well, though the group of us had a few ‘moments’. One of the lads managed to end up in the gravel, and the day was ended 40 mins early. Track ‘officials’ were soon to slate the shit through us to the rest of the paddock over the tannoy.
Not once have I been to a trackday where I felt like we were getting told off like a group of kids for ‘going too fast’
Never have I ever had the arse end of my car out, but it now seems the norm since fitting the coilovers.
Few pics of the day:
