Suj's Nimbus Clio 197 and E36 328i Trackcar

That is what I took, was soooo good, I will be going through Wales again with some friends, cannot wait to get back out there, some epic roads there.
Scotland is somewhere i've wanted to go for donkey years, so may have to get back there too.

Sooooo much good driving to be had in Wales. The well known roads are all fantastic but my favourite is a route from Capel Curig down to Tremadog. Bit of everything. Mostly very good surface. Stunning views in parts. NSL almost the whole way. AWESOME!

Have fun mate.

Oh we have done those, I agree epic roads!

So yesterday I went to a car meet I used to go to when at uni (it was a stance VW one, one of the founders passed away, so was in memory of him).

I went up in my mates Nissan 180sx Type-X, we had a convoy of a few cars, a 350z, E92 M3 and an old Accord.

Was a great meet actually, good thing about it, it started off with "Dubs" but then as they are proper car guys, many have loads of different cars, so there was from memory R34 GTR, McLaren 540c, many nice sounding Merc AMGs, a lovely old JZX100 Toyota Chaser (running a 2JZ-GTE aka Supra engine), GT86 that was rocking nearly all carbon (I mean wings, bonnet, boot, spoiler, literally draped in carbon) and was running a massive FMIC....means only one thing...BOOST.

My highlight was an old Audi 80, it was sitting decked as it was on air, but then the bonnet was open, it was running the 5pot Audi Quattro engine, with a mahusive turbo, always loved that shape!

On the way back, my mate let me drive his 180sx back, so i've worked on this car a fair bit, I love it so much, it has had shitloads spent on it in Japan alone, and my mate has also spent a lot.
So for people who don't know about them, they are the S13 200sx in UK (flip up lights one), but these come with CA18DET engines, but the 180sx has the SR20DET engine out the later 200sx (but this is the one without VVT, "straight cam" as it was called by people), it is only running a T25 turbo (my old S14a 200sx had a T28) but my god it is a healthy engine! It was 0-60 in 6.5secs back in the day, so now it is running 270bhp....so yeah it is quick!

So it has Ohlin coilovers, Cusco 1.5way, Cusco dash dodger cage, Recaro recliners, Work CR Kai wheels (more for show), then has some Work VS-XX wheels too that need refurbing, S14a front and rear brake setup (also makes it 5x114.3 PCD), so much to list on it.

Only pic I have (as I didn't take any yesterday, was too busy catching up with people I ain't seen in years).

So this weekend I will be swapping over the wings, fitting the new headlights (now I have all the bulbs) and cleaning and covering the rear diffuser in Gtechniq and fitting also maybe, also same for sealing the wheels ready to get the tyres swapped over :smile:

Looks and sounds like a great day out.

Who has a car meet on a Wednesday?! Guessing it was the memorial factor...
Lovely looking cars. I always wanted a 200sx. Sadly never got round to it

Yeah they've always had the meets on Wednesday evenings, it works really well and has a massive turnout.

I loved my 200sx, just missed NA for track (and finding parts more for track than drifting was harder) so I then replaced it with an all out track E36 328I I built.

But I've got a great track record for selling cars....just before their prices rocket...happened to my 7series, the 200sx, the E36....so just buy whatever car I'm selling at the time, you're guaranteed profit lol

I don't have one of those! Just a key.

Yours is a cup though isn't it?

where can i get this pls??

A guy on Facebook called Ryan Kilner:
http://stores.ebay.co.uk/knrgrafix/CAR-DECALS-/_i.html?_fsub=26115873018

He has ones for cups etc (which is ironic, as above Mark has a key not a card lol)

Does it still fit in slot Suraj?

It's not that thick, only a thin vinyl, but I will double check after work, I think it should be fine, it's waterproof and much more durable, and loads of colours for £6.75 posted, was worth a punt lol.

Yeah, mines a Cup.

No key card or electric mirrors, got aircon and full diamond stitched leather though?

Yeah I remember the car from the previous owner, so Cups they came with no keyless entry, no electric mirrors, AC was optional, but you couldn't have digital climate. The leathers were put in by the previous owner.

Sounds right up my street mate. Specs? Photos?

I didn't really update my build thread for it lol.

So it was a non-Msport 328i Manual in Boston Green.
I then put on the Msport kit.

* M50 manifold and map (was like 225-230bhp)
* 3.2 M3 Evo rear axle (so I could get the large case LSD diff) also polybushed whole axle and new ball joints for the uprights / arms, also then M3 rear brakes
* BMsport reinforced Evo diff mount
* M3 Evo reinforcement plates welded in for rear diff (as on the M3 Evo)
* 3.2 M3 Evo front hubs, so I could get the bigger better brakes, then also Evo wishbones, which give better caster and a central nose bush (so I didn't have to use an offset bush).
* Eibach ARBs, but then I sold them and ran M3 Evo ARBs, as they were as good (bolted to the damper, not wishbone, so longer lever, so can get away with a thinner softer ARB)
* Stripped out
* Safety devices full bolt in cage
* 2x Macht Schnell floor mounts
* 2x Corbeau Sprint XL seats
* 2x 6-point Schroth Profi-II Harnesses
* E34 gearbox mounts (better and stiffer)
* M3 3.2 Evo front engine subframe (as it has the nutserts so I could use the front lower M3 X-brace)
* HSD Monopro coilovers (with the 12kg/mm Nürburgring spring setup, I was one of the first to test them for Driftworks)
* Supersprint R-Series catback exhaust
* OMP front strut brace
* E46 Purple label shorter rack
* Z3M shorter shifter
* M3 braided clutch line (and clutch delay valve removed)
* Braided HEL brake lines
* M3 Evo floating discs and Pagid RS29 pads
* 2 sets of Sunflower 3.0 M3 staggered wheels (R888s and Rainsports)
* Dave F induction
* Metal thermostat housing
* Turner Motorsport caliper solid slider bushes upgrade kit
Probably loads more, basically it got out of hand quickly haha, but was such a great and capable car! Shame it had to be sold (broke for bits).

I thought the i.d leather came with the car as an option?

I know it was an option.

It was, but I don't think it was on a cup, I'm sure in his thread on here he put the seats in, as he bought them off here!

Suj, EPIC response mate. That car sounds immense!!! Must have been an absolute riot to drive.

Did you know the guys at Driftworks? Ever see Phil’s V10?

It was a great car, started off as a budget build...didn't last long at all lol, I don't like doing half arsed jobs!

I've not been out in it, but seen it and heard it in the flesh, as my mate Al is very good friends with Phil and has done loads of videography for Driftworks (he currently still does the YouTube stuff).
It sounds so good, but so does his Lambo and the LSX V8 AE86 that he competes in.

Actually I've got 2 videos in Al's car drifting with Phil and Richard (Richard drifts for Driftworks)

Had a busy weekend and I was out drinking on Saturday (longgggg time since I have), but woke up early and felt good....weird lol.

So I got cracking on the car after doing food shopping etc.

I changed the drivers side wing that was damaged before (hitting the curb) also while there I changed the headlights to projectors.

The bolt holding the bumper to the wing on the passenger side snapped....not surprised as it was so rusty, so I had to drill that sucker out and put a nut and bolt on it.

For the projector lights I put all new bulbs in while I could have them out:
* H1 Osram Nightbreaker Unlimited (dipped beam)
* H7 Osram Nightbreaker Unlimited (full beam)
* W5W Osram LED retrofit bulbs (side lights)
* BAU15S Lumro Chrome amber bulbs (indicators, make sure they are these offset pin ones)
* Kept the cornering bulbs in, just so it looks complete, even though they won't work (some people have wired them to the full beam, for even better lighting on country roads, so maybe look at this in the future).

It changes the whole front end, especially against the silver, it makes it look so much meaner and better! (PS I know the grills need a seeing too, don't worry that is happening very soon lol).

So next up I am going to get the Eibach springs fitted, then I can get the studs/nut kit on, then spacers, then wheels :smiley:
