Storing your detailing gear | detailing setups

How do you guys keep your detailing stuff, I’m talking about proper shelving and organisation,

Currently have mine on a couple of display shelves but I’m struggling now as my kit has got significantly bigger recently, and I need to keep my cloths with certain products so cross contamination doesn’t occur

I’ve got lots of spare racking/shelving in the loft that I can make use of

Thoughts, suggestions and pictures would be great


About as much as I can fit on one shelf, have ten other shelves in the same way

That's a fair few quid sitting on that shelf! I'm a big fan of Swissvax myself. I have a cupboard in my kitchen that's dedicated to my detailing gear. I keep all my cloths and pads in Tupperware type tubs with lids.

Same here only the best for the raider,

Ideally I would like to keep mine inside or at least heated, my snow foam often freezes in the bottle over the winter

I had abit of a tidy up today and reorganise aswell as Washing all my applicator pads and microfibres, still not perfect but will have to do for now

Quite simply, in a mess in the boot of my car....

I've got a supermarket style plastic crate and my AutoGlym bag in the boot, that holds the most of it. Need to get something a bit better sorted, doing my head in when I do a bit of B-road blasting!

Bit of a curveball on the topic....opinions on drying out wash mitts and drying towels after use...? I tend to air dry mine, is that the best way?

Best to let them dry naturally so air drying is fine. Tumble dry on low heat if you must.

I use a heated clothes dryer each rail is warm drys the perfect and doesn’t affect the fibres, got a load drying right now haha,

a tumble dryer has the potential of melting the strands ruining there absorbing properties and possibly making them cause scratching

3 teenage kids living at home, a shed full of rubbish and a garage full of car doesn't help finding even a smallish dedicated detailing area. (And hence im very jealous of all these well laid out, spacious set-ups you see on DW etc). And yours looks pretty damned fine to be fair Glenn !


So from that: nothing fancy here. Just a couple of cupboards we specced out of the kitchen when the house was built.



Snow-foams, screen-wash and other 'bulk' containers; along with buckets, brushes etc on the tumble dryer:



Oils, paints, lubricants in the cupboard below:



Car enhancing gear in the one up-top:



And the pressure washer hanging up in the shed on hooks with the hose, power-leads, accessories etc.......

I'll be honest, I'm with Locke, I keep mine inside, if hade issues with stuff over the winter before, esp snowfoam so I guess it's just as easy to keep it indoors I've cut down my collection to just what I need tbh, getting to much caught up in the hype just costs you far too much money, I can get all my products on one shelf now and a separate one for the microfibres and drying cloths!

Got one of the Auto Finesse holdalls for xmas. really good for storage. Easy to carry around and store in the boot if needed.
