sluggish car- help!

@foxspeed I had a look at the solenoid, everything looked very clean, but if your familiar with it, you know the thin ring of small sections of metal mesh about half way down, it had a section of mesh missing from it? i looks like there was mesh there but its ripped out? i don't think that would make a difference to how its running but is it worth getting a new one or is it meant to be like that?

or anyone else? lol £90 just for a new solenoid:worried:

where the mesh screen/filter gone ?

has it gone in to the dephaser pulley causing the fault perhaps :scared:

my dephaser pulley, cam belt and aux belt has all been replaced, now it runs like it should on idle so thank god for that! but its still not got the power it did a couple weeks back! I'm in first gear and put my foot to the floor and it doesnt even wheel spin (tc off) or fly thro the revs like it did! **** sake! my car is warm and the exhaust/ intake noise sounds exactly like it does when you try nd put your foot down when the engine is cold! arrggghhh!!!
edit- just noticed something with my pedal, if i put my foot right the way down, the last couple cm i can feel like a slight resistance? can't say I've noticed that before either!

What is the coolant temp showing on the gauge sounds as if the choke is staying on. Mine has done a simular (running flat as if it's bogging out)thing but I'll restart the car and it sorts itself out so it would have to be a sensor maybe temperature sensor or air intake temp sensor (grey sensor on the inlet manifold)

That's normal, they have a switch that deactivates the speed limiter incase you need to get away quickly.

I think you need to get it looked at by someone with CLIP so that it can be properly diagnosed.

Who changed the timing belt and dephaser for you?

My temp gauge reads fine, when warm its at the halfway point then slightly lower when driving. Will get them to check them 2 sensors! cheers Dan_rs

Yeh I had a look around and thats what everyone says lol can't believe I've only just noticed it! Cambelt been done at a garage called Trannings Automotive Specialist- Renault and Nissan. Im pretty sure they're using a CLIP, they plugged it in again and came up with the same dephaser circuit so going in again on Tuesday! Chrisgti6

with all the various faults showing up its more like a wiring faulty then an actual mechanical fault...

UPDATE- Car is back to normal! Took them a few days to eventually find the problem of the car still lacking power after the new dephaser pulley was fitted, the problem being they got supplied the wrong dephaser from renault (or ordered wrong one) but all sorted now! no extra cost to me so cost me £588 in the end. so better than the £700+ i thought it was going to be! thing now is the dash screen and steering controls for the radio aren't working? Dash shows the time constantly and steering controls don't work at all. anyone know what i can try to get it to work again? battery? fuses?

LJohns94 have you put the radio code in? As the battery would of been disconnected for the camshaft locking tool to fit.

Dan_rs I've got a pioneer headunit tho? its not come up with anything on there about a code? don't say I've got to put old one back in lol

Dan_rs all sorted now mate, yesterday i just pulled the fuses out and put them back in then took the head unit out and disconnected the steering control cable and put back in, so could have been either that sorted it! Thanks everyone for their help lol hopefully this thread can help others in same situation!
