197: Slight knocking from rear of the car

Ive got a slight knocking noise coming from the rear of the car when going over speed bumps or slight bumps in the road.

I read a thread about it on here but i cant seem to find it now.

Any ideas on what it could be ? Does sound like the exhaust is knocking on something but im not sure. Im sure ive read something about the heatshield on the 197's knocking before

Could be the exhaust, boot catch or rear seats!

Easiest one to check is the rear seats, grab the headrest and shake it to see if it knocks.

Your boot catch may still be loose even if it does seem tight. I checked mine and didnt seem bad, but i adjusted it any way and it never knocked since.

Might be the seat belt adjuster mines rattled on my 200 when I went over speed bumps

How do you adjust it?

Remove the the boot trim behind the bumper, and you will see the catch that that the latch latches onto, its secured with to torx screws and thats like a ruler scale on it, loosen and push the catch in a touch, tighten and test that the boot shuts. I tested mine by pressing down on the boot hard, even thou you have to press hard there was movement and i kept adjusting until no movement.
