Shuv's Racing Blue 200...................

Wheel looks great Shuv, but do I detect you're not fully happy with it?

No you dont Mes.......not at all. I have no intention of complaining / swapping / looking for the next re-trimmers etc !! Infact i'm a very happy bunny and glad i waited and went with Royal.

All im saying is; its a bespoke hand made item and isnt 200% factory-finish, absolutely unblemished, perfect in every single way etc. I'm just a harsh critic and i say it as i see it.

IMO though - if you bought a £40k Audi and stuck this in it - the quality wouldn't look at all out of place.

 Quality. Pleased to hear it mate.

Love the contrast colour in your interior. When we come to needing ours doing, will be going for something very similar to you I think.

Thankyou. In Orange as well ? (I know your a fellow tangerinee)

'Fresh' and all easily reversible should the next owner not like my taste is how i rock !

Looks superb, proper chunky. Think this could be a new addition very soon!
Is it black, as I thought you were going dark grey as per Ben's wheel? (was it Ben?!)

I'd say it's darker than dark-grey. Not black though as such.

I think it will go well with a 200 dash etc

*****Not sure if a 197 / 200 dash are the same colour ?

I think the yellow rev counter (which looks MUCH better I think) on the 200 is the main change. The rest is pretty much the same I think mate.

New steering wheel in.......and........Couple of suitable decals added to the dash strip to liven the joint up

Rear calipers and pads stripped, cleaned, lubed etc [Twice i've done this now in 10 months of ownership - both times its "amazed" me how much the brake pedal feel has firmed up and improved]

And stupid busy as i am at work i AM going to make a start on making some sort of cover for this in the next few days......

s-l1600_zpsri983sut.jpg

This Aluminium perforated sheet is what i have in mind at the moment (For the visual look and to be different to the plain stainless / aluminium anyone else uses for various holders, covers swirl pots etc....?). Plus i'll somewhat still be able to see in the expansion tank of course......

And with a toilet roll (All ll i had to hand - lol) to get some idea of scale and size of holes [Approx 10mm):

I'm only making a top cover as such (I think) - so i'll need something around the edges. Cue: Black rubber 'safe edge' strip i found up at work.

And when fitted:

Wish me luck !

The steering wheels is brilliant Shuv, the interior is looking better every time you post new photos! I'm liking all the orange accents, no shortage of them

Did you do the rear brakes yourself?

The sheeting looks good for the tank cover, very interested to see how this turns out  great work as ever bud.

Wheel and all the interior looks great Shuv. Massive upgrade from standard.

Funny how clio200.net looks totally alien to me because I'm a 197er

Everything in your interior is so orange! You even lucked out that the stereo display is orange and the lights behind all the buttons etc :tearsofjoy:

Seriously though, interior looks great bud! How come you decided to remove the steering wheel insert?

Not so sure about 'luck' Dale.......

***I'm really glad i followed the standard interior dash / lighting colours etc; and went with the Orange wheel in the first instance though. Just meant adding a few more Orange tit-bits here and there was so easy. And wheel apart - i can still change it all back in 5 mins flat.......

TBH - the new wheel is quite chunky. So much so; pushing the steering wheel badge on MIGHT mark the leather. Not a prob if your definitely keeping the badge on forever. But a problem if you want to remove in the future. And as it currently stands. I really think its better without. Silver doesn't really fit in as much now.

I grabbed the Aluminium sheet in our workshop today and there was all sorts of tools and equipment laying around - but i needed something everyone would recognise. Then i spotted a toilet roll on the bench of one of my lads. Seemed the obvious choice for something to 'scale from'.... :astonished:

Ah you based the choice off the counter/stereo display, I thought it was a happy coincidence!

And yeah that's understandable about the insert, can't blame you for wanting to keep it in tip top condition

Termite mesh takes me back to the days of front mounted inter coolers on GTturbos:french:

Steering wheel looks great as anticipated.

'Lucky' colour coordinated interior you got there buddy...!

Just noticed, do you always have one of those big bits of paper in the footwell to stop your mats getting dirty? It's a damn good idea if so :tearsofjoy:

You torque up your wheel bolts when you have them off or just by feel? Know it's a bit of a random question.
