Rubbish radio reception!

Anyone got any tips on getting a better radio reception?

I have had problems with this but the other day i removed my CD player and realised that the antenna plug wasnt quite in properly. Once plugging in it is now perfect.

made sure the earths are ok?

yeh they will be because my old stereo was really **** then yesterday i had my new pioneer unit fitted and its not a lot better i am gona see if a new arial does anything.

I never had a problem with the radio reception when I owned the car.
