Rear towing eye mounting location

I am currently fitting tow cables to my car - I'm not a fan of tow straps after one snapped on me some time ago which is why I've opted for cables.
The front one was nice and easy, buzz off the thread that accepts the standard Renault tow bar and mount it there.
The rear however has me scratching my head somewhat. Has anyone fitted a tow cable to the rear end and where was a good place to mount it?

The rear tow eye is under the bumper and I think is the round hole in your first picture.

You have to make a hole in the bumper to access it with the bumper on.

I have fitted mine like this,cut and welded the original part with an M12 connector,it's a disgrace you need to drill the bumper,i dont know what Renault was thinking.

Holy cow the rear bumper has been off for some time and I didn't actually realise there was no cut out available for a towing eye, what a great design - that's going to be fun.
I've made a bracket to mount the tow cable to using the existing M20 thread for the original towing eye. It's not perfect but it'll work.
Far too much time needed for such a small job!
