Nimbus grey 197 :)

Hi guys.
Thought I would start my progress blog for my 197
Anyway, bought completely standard on the 8th March in p/x for my RS Twingo.
I haven't really done much at all to it so far, but I've got a few plans for it before FCS so I'll update as and when I can.

Anyway, here's a few pics of when I picked her up

So I bought a BMC panel filter from Kam Racing, and fitted it.

Shortly followed by a set of RS mats....

And I also took a few more pics while I was at it....

That's it for now guys. Like I say, I've got a few plans in the pipeline and they'll come in good time. Comments welcome

Picked up my 200 diffuser today, so that will be the next thing that I do  Just waiting for the exhaust trims to arrive, then I'll get some pics up

Good start!!! What else have you got planned then after the diffuser goes on?

Cheers mate.
Well, ideally and firstly I want to get my wheels refurbed. I like the wheels I have at the moment but think they wold look smart in gloss black. Originally I was thinking of going for a really dark anthracite (like my Twingo wheels were) but now that I have the gloss black diffuser I'm being steered more in that direction.
Then I have a plan for my badges. This is without paying the huge price for the carbon fibre ones and also without the vinyl wrapping.

I have a few other small plans that I think will be some nice little touches, but hey. I can't give away all of my ideas

Cheers for the comments chaps

Anyway, I fitted my 200 diffuser. I'm still waiting for my exhaust trims to come through but should be here tomorrow or Tuesday and anyway, I got impatient. Haha.
Looks soooo much better in my opinion and I'm chuffed to bits with it!
Was so easy to fit too! I couldn't believe it! I was expecting something to get broken (French little plastic clips lol) but nothing did! And no swearing either!

Anyway, here's a few pictures

Here's the diffuser, in my bedroom yesterday. When I arrived in Cambridge to collect it, the guy was giving it a quick polish  Anyway, I chose to polish it again and also waxed it to make it shiny shiny shiny

Removed the old diffuser. (four torx head screws, and two M8 nuts.) Oh and lots of annoying little clips, which weren't actually that annoying in the end!

Then cleaned the car next so I could get into all the nooks and crannies a bit better. Also removed the rear number plate and gave it a good clean behind there too.

So, next was to fit the new diffuser. I laid some cardboard on the ground for it to rest on and clipped the diffuser onto the bumper so it was held roughly in place. Then crawled under the car and tightened up the two 8mm nuts to hold it in position so I could check the alignment of it with the bumper etc. All was ok, so I put the four torx screws in and tightened them up. Then tightened up the two 8mm nuts fully.

So, there it is fully fitted. The pictures don't really do it justice to be honest, but I guess it just looks like the rear of a 200 now, nearly! Ha.

Just got to wait for my exhaust trims to arrive, which should be here either tomorrow or Tuesday. Hopefully will be able to fit them with the diffuser on the car, but if not then it's not too hard at all to remove.

Look forward to your opinions and comments!

Haven't had this updated for quite some time now, probably because there hasn't been much to update! Haha.
Anyway, several friends of mine had organised a Rolling Road day back in December, as a bit of fun to see what power all of our cars have.....

Clio-RRDay.gif

184 BHP result. A pretty good result, I think?! (Only mods are a BMC panel filter)

I'm also going to start doing track days this year, so asked around for some trackday wheels. Ideally I wanted some of the Cup Racer wheels, so I emailed all of the Clio cup teams. Two of them responded, saying that they had none available to sell to me.

Then, luckily I managed to source these........

Cupracers.gif

Picked them up on the 29th of December, thanks to GrumpyTwig (Cheers, Tom!)

Also bought a TRS towing strap for a chum and I.....

TRStowstraps.gif

And that's all really folks!

Looking back through my Facebook mobile uploads, I now remember what I did buy for the car over the summer....

RS steering wheel trim...
RSTrim.gif

And new brakes.......
Went for the KTR grooved discs, with the Ferodo DS Performance front and rear pads!

I had to get the new brakes due to the well known pad/pin sticking issue, which wasn't well known to me at the time! Ahhh well.

The parts the pads do not touch will stay that colour which makes them look a lot smarter later on, nothing worse than rusty discs.
