MS 200 fun road and track car - and other car stuff!

sounds like you are going to be very busy trackwise..good stuff..hope your dad and mates enjoy your little clio as much as you..
cant wait to get some track time myself...

Then I'm planning a couple of Blytons, one in the Clio letting my Dad drive. He spent his working life building rally Minis and then performance and race Mini engines, but never did much track stuff himself so having retired he's building a track Mini at last! Figured the Clio would be the perfect friendly car for his first outing!

Be vewy vewy careful! As a former track Mini owner (but still immature!), one of the things I liked immediately about the Clio was its Mini-like handling and performance...but without sitting in a drafty cardboard box. My money says he won't give it back, and he'll remind you that you're the seed of his loins, all he's done for you to make you what you are today...oh, and could you make sure the tank's full [emoji6][emoji15][emoji16]

Haha brilliant Timbo! I'm convinced he'll love it! :grimacing:

I can't wait to drive the Mini on track once it's done, it's ten years (Jesus I can't believe that!) since I sold my last one and I never drove it on track.

Forgive me, Clio vids are overdue and this is not a Clio, but it is my pride and joy and it's nearly two years since I drove it in anger so I'm a bit excited!!...

IT WORKS!

Haha! Didn't want to whore the MX5 too much on the Clio platform!

It's a freakin' weapon!
So awesome having that level of power without the weight that normally accompanies it! And best of all it's useable!!

Update time!

Since the big service my mpg has gradually been creeping up, currently at 29.6, wouldn't it be nice to break 30!!

That seems rather unlikely now as I've booked Blyton on the 17th, will be in Clio and going to share the day with my Dad.

He worked in Motorsport and then built race engines for his working life but he hasn't done any track work in over 35 years! He's building himself a track Mini so the Clio should be a nice reintroduction.

I'm trying something a little different, having done similar on Minis and then Hondas, I'm putting track tyres on the front only for trackdays.

It has AD08rs all round so not such a radical difference but the fronts weren't quite coping last time out and they have an awful lot to do compared to the rears!

I have a pair of standard wheels heading to the powdercoaters along with some tastier rubber, hopefully it will all come together in time for Blyton!

I've heard very good things about the MRFs Peter, I've used most other semis but on other cars so it might be tricky to be truly definitive about them on the Clio.

I'm doing Blyton tomorrow but planning on using the mk2 MX5 instead, so not sure when the next Clio outing will be. I'd really like to do a Cadwell date in it!

Talking of Blyton tomorrow, the Clio has proven its practicality again, with 10 wheels, 2 helmets, tools and an overnight bag squeezed in! :tearsofjoy:
