mileage check

im looking at buying a car but id like to know if its been clocked! is there anyway of checking with just the numberplate??

yeah, its an 05 plate but ive not bought it yet. ive seen the dvla website where you can check the mileage but you need the v5 number or an MOT number.

well hes 100 miles away lol, i dont really want to ask for them over the phone as it seem dodgy on my part

Does a check on the reg number to see if it's stolen etc cover that kind of thing?

ive checked all that and its fine but alot of them have high miles, this ones fine fo me. its the part service history thats bugging me, thats why id like to check

I think if the seller is genuine then he will understand if you explain the reasoning for you wanting the details required for checking it.
