Micah's Deep Black 200

All progress is progress Micah. I'm just as happy looking at maintenance as I am looking at mods.

Amazing old vs new photo!

Yeah just goes to show how much of a beating they take.
Mods and maintenance are equally important, shame they cost about the same (although mates rates are awesome!)

Mates rates are a boon, especially when it comes to things like this! Kudos to the man for doing the job like he did too - not so easy from what I've heard!

Maintenance is a must over mods for us 'glass half empty' folk anyway Micah

And the fit was still good Micah ?

Snug as a bug in a rug.
My mate is a tech for a specialist car garage and also owns a 200, very thorough and a decent chap too.
Will do the other side when the weather gets a bit warmer.

Brilliant that is then.

Does he need any more "mates"

Thankfully the car sits on the drive all week so hasn't been overly subjected to the amount of salt on the roads. But after a 60 mile round trip this morning, it looked a bit sorry for itself. Luckily the weather was pretty warm (all 9 degrees) so I set out on my adventure armed with a hose and:
  • Meguiars Gold Class shampoo, plus their other cleaners (wheel, window)
  • AutoGlym tyre dressing
  • Sonax Brilliantshine Detailer

Sometimes I forget how much I love black cars. I know it doesn't stay like that for long, but it's really rewarding.

great effort Micah..think a nice Recaro sticker on the side mounts would be a very decent addition :thumb:snc10972.jpg

Car passed its MOT with flying colours today. Was even cheeky enough to ask for it at half price as per the next nearest dealership in their network! As it took 3 months for them to rectify the mileage error on the last MOT when I bought it, the Aftersales Manager was happy enough to do this, as well as get my manifold checked out. £27.42 is what it cost me!
All seems fine with it, though the Tech told me that the diffuser is sitting very close to the Scorpion rear box, so I might take the diffuser off later and have a gander - this would explain my reverb woes that haunt me with this damn system! Just need to think of a way round it...

Result on the price. Nothing like those arse-clenching moments while your car is in for the mot!
Only thing to do with the exhaust is to get it on axle stands and have a play with the fitment.

Sat Morning result on the most part then buddy....

AND you might have something to investigate ref the exhaust

Exhaust Investigation Part 1
Tail pipes on the rear silencer are sitting perfectly in alignment with the heat shields. Looking in from the rear wheel arch the box is clearing the car and diffuser nicely.
Exhaust Investigation Part 2
Removed the diffuser and drove up the road and back (didn't want to start melting anything!)
No difference at all.
Conclusion: The rear box is just noisy!
